It doesn't make much difference anyway. Either Hall or Caliendo would've been #2 and #3, so they are both in the same side of the bracket anyway.

McGowan hasn’t really wrestled anyone and when he did he lost (Moran and Peterson). He beat Max Gallagher twice but I think those are his only wins. McCrone has bad losses but also pinned the 1 seed so who knows

I understand the mechanics of seeding, I also think Alirez is likely wrestling on one arm, but still, a previous champ is a bad bad draw.  It is arguably the toughest quarter at the weight.

Now, of course alirez could put this to bed by getting bounced before the quarter, but I still think the point is valid.
