I've always felt like once you play the game or wrestle the match it doesn't matter, we all know who won and the loser sure as hell probably doesn't feel like a winner. At least I wouldn't.

Yea I imagine even that second place kid is like “This is stupid…”. No one wants it gifted like that. I always felt weird winning tournaments when I knew I might have been the best there but that’s just the ones that showed up…

court mandate? you are a fool LOL

Some sort of court order?

I honestly don't care enough to actually care.

He was an adult who, while still enrolled in high school, his a 16 year old.  He shouldn't have been allowed to wrestle in the first place.

Yet... he was allowed to wrestle, and won.  There are pictures of him on the top of the podium four times.  That can never be erased.

Also, yes.  I am a fool.

I finally got around to listening to this particular episode and @Husker_Du's mental gymnastics going from "these libtard judges are ruining the NCAA with five years for a very specific group impacting 8 total wrestlers in the whole NCAA unlike the years sandwiched around them!"

and

"Knox was given a judicial injunction at his relief to let him wrestle!" by a Republican judge was certainly something to behold.

I don't care if he hit a 16 year old. It's two high school kids. Anyone saying otherwise is not being fair to the situation. They're both in high school. Law says otherwise, I don't care. It's just a fight. People make too big if a deal out of fight. Nobody got very hurt. This whole thing is dumb.

If Aj Ferrari did this in high school would the public react differently?

statistically speaking kids that behave  this way in high school have a higher % chance of going to prison

Ferrari may have done worse for all we know.

Statistically speaking, kids who fight at a wrestling event to protect their father have a higher chance of going to prison? Would love to see that study.

For all we know lol.

yes.  People that run in the stands to assault a minor in the fetal position who already was beaten / down / lost ….   Statistically people like that have a higher probability to go to prison later in life because they already have no self control and make bad life decisions.

You're throwing in the world "statistically" to make yourself sound smart and its having the opposite effect. The only way to sound dumber would be to throw in "blatant" somewhere.

The statement is objectively true.  And I think you know that.

Assaulting a guy in the fetal position isn’t protecting your family.  It’s a thing bad people do.  Being good at wrestling doesn’t remove that fact

now you're trying it with objectively. These words just don't mean what you think they mean.

That would be treading into dingleberry territory and there is no room for that on their good ol ship of fools

I personally don’t think he should’ve been charged with a crime (even if it was one), but it’s hard to say it wasn’t unsportsmanlike. Knox was barred from competing for breaking the association’s sportsmanship code, not for being charged with assault.

The judge should’ve never issued the injunction. Whether Knox was ultimately convicted or found not guilty in court had no bearing on the association’s decision to bar him, so the judge’s reasoning to protect his right to due process was erroneous. Knox’s due process was to appeal the association’s decision to bar him per the bylaws of the code. He did. They upheld the decision. That should’ve been the end of it. Knox is the one who brought the “law” into it by suing the association instead of honoring the code by which he, like every athlete, agreed to abide.

Knox could’ve flipped off the crowd after his match or got caught with a dip in his mouth in the locker room, and the association could’ve barred him from competing at state, just as well. No “crime” committed, but obvious violation of the code. Would people be crying “innocent until proven guilty” then? No, they would say it’s a harsh penalty, but he should’ve been smarter. Knox stormed the stands and punched a kid, and somehow that’s more defensible, because he was charged with a crime? Doesn’t make sense.

Instead he jumped into the stands and assaulted a minor.  A blatant violation of the rules that cost him a 4th state title.

I’ll bet he has a violent outburst down the road in college as well.   His role model has dui and fighting arrests so it’s prolly not a huge secret where he gets it from.

I have nothing against Knox and wish him well in the future. My problem is with the adults not letting him be accountable for his actions and running to the court. If I remember correctly, Knox initially owned up to it, acknowledged he’d be a three-timer and was looking forward to what’s next in a twitter.

The association’s decision to bar Knox sucked for him. The judge’s decision to bar the association from enforcing their rules sucked for everyone. Keep sports out of the court room. I’d love to see state associations (and NCAA) require all athletes (and/or parents/guardians) sign an arbitration agreement as a requirement for participation.

If you need a study to understand people committing violent crimes at a young age are more likely to commit violent crime at a later age.   Well man.  I don’t know what to tell you.   I would google it.  There are prolly tons.  But for now I’m gonna not do that
