Portal is for announcing you want to transfer.  You can still do it the old fashioned way and switch schools on your own as long as it’s your move and the other school didn’t contact you first.  It’s how the Iowa kids ended up at SDSU.

Devon Miller transferred from North Carolina and has enrolled at the University of Central Oklahoma. What the heck is the story here? He was originally committed to wrestle for Kolat at Navy, decommitted, and chose NC....and now he is at UCO.

Chad Richison has nothing to do with UCO wrestling anymore.  He got pissed off on who they hired as the president of the school, and the school kept him on as president.  I am assuming that is what you are talking about with Paycom

A lot of programs probably think it's a huge red flag when a kid has to have coaches/support staff pick him up in a golf cart in order to get him to attend class when he is struggling academically.  They also think it's a red flag when a kid clears out after the conference tournament and decides not to help his teammates prepare for the NCAAs.
