I believe that is where he originally committed. Sorry to see him leave Mizzou. He had some good wins this year over former national qualifiers Maximillian Leete and Tyler Ferrera.

Interesting - didn't know he had committed there.  He did have some good wins.  From my perspective, I don't remember may guys transferring into an academy from another D1 sports team.  But good on him if thats his vocation

So are the Larkin Boys staying put in ASU? There was soooooo much smoke that they were leaving to ISU. Or is there still smoke?

Didn’t see them in the portal. I think they wrestled the open under valiant not Atreus. A side note that Dan Severn looks to be one of the guys heading up the effort to raise money for ASU.

I don’t think there was ever real “smoke,” just people speculating

I was really high on him in HS. Took Luke Lilledahl to he brink in a S32 final once.

There was for sure talk that they were coming to Iowa State.  We were on the same visit as Kyler, Meza, and Castillo. It for sure was his second choice but they want (ed) to follow in Dad's footsteps at ASU.

Side Note: That recruiting visit was off the chain with the talent there. Lockett, Larkin, Routledge on and on. If Iowa State could have got 1/2 those guys, man oh man.

So as far as we know - Brayden Thompson did not enter the portal before the required date.  I guess he will challenge for 184 and 197 and just eat the year of eligibility if it doesn't work out

@flyingcement I respect your commitment to reporting the transfer news here. I'd miss a lot of info without this thread. 🫡

Very nice of you to say!

For anyone was was interested in the best sources for transfer portal news, Jon Kozak at Flo has been running this list that shows dates of portal entry by weight, by school, including past accomplishments.  It's a huge list and has been a great reference this year.  https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/13994973-2025-ncaa-d1-wrestling-off-season-transfer-tracker

for a quick glance at who is currently still in the portal, I think wrestlestat has a nice view which is updated quite regularly:
https://www.wrestlestat.com/transferportal

Intermat keeps a solid list as well that can be a good reference source:

as you can imagine - information flows through all different channels for transfer portal news, so sometimes one source gets the update before another does.  as an example, intermat has been the only ones showing the Clem brothers from West Virginia to Sacred Heart.   Other updates Flo will have first - or Wrestlestat - it's hard to predict.

He looks like a Braunagel - with more hair

The Braunagels had more hair when they arrived.  Lets see how this pans out.  😉
