Thought I saw somewhere that Picklo was on the way out/unhappy?

Yeah it was mentioned here i believe.  For now I haven't seen any talk about where he would go or who would replace him

Is Charmoli gonna be effective at 133? He wrestled Braun at state at 145

I wondered the same. He was at 133 last year and went 9-3.  It would be cool to see 3 Minnesota kids in a row in a college lineup, but I think 141 could be the best weight for all three.

Rumor has it that Kish and staff have been pulling some BS with these guys. NIL deals not followed through on, scholly's not followed through on. Wiley and McDougal both bailing because of some slimy stuff on Kish's part. Tate should go to UCO and try to AA IMO, he has not panned out. Great kid, but just not a D1 guy IMO.

I think he's a victim of the coaching staff's he's had tbh. I think he could have AA'd under different circumstances. Could be wrong though. You know him far better than I do.

IMO He’s a d1 Capable wrestler but I’m not sure he’s convinced himself of that.  I watched him over the last few years go from a kid who could handle a Gavin Sax (and knew it), to the gap closing, to losing to him (seemingly confused as to how) to having to switch weights when Sax transferred to Oklahoma.  Sax get better? Yep.  Coaching? Maybe, but they’ve both had Kish and another coach.  Mindset? Probably IMO.  With what time he has left find a place that makes it fun and then let it fly.

Gotta be mindset for Tate. He major'd Sax last year, then got pinned by him, and then beat him 8-4. He lost to Brayden Thompson 9-0 and then beat him 5-2, lost to Cramer 16-5 and then beat him 7-2 two days later. I hope he can figure it out in his final year, he's a fun wrestler to watch.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Indubitably

Once they get to 4 we can start calling them PSUw

I don't think it is good for the sport for UVU to be pillaging other schools like this. After PSU invests in them UVU just swoops in and takes them. It aint right.

Vince Santaniello from Pitt to TCNJ

Is this a shock to anyone? I only know the brother, so I do not know how good this one is.

Sort of took me by surprise for a second.  Vinnie was very good in high school; 4-time state placer who was stuck behind Dean Peterson for almost all of his career.  Finally won it as a senior when Peterson got surgery and was out for the season.  Guess it doesn't pan out for everyone at the D1 level.  I hope he finishes his career on a high note at D3!

Pitt guy: This is a shock in terms of ability, he is no doubt a top 30 guy at the D1 level at 133. Career wins over Nic Bouzakis, Braxton Brown, Tyler Ferrara, Gable Strickland, Anthony Madrigal. SV Loss to E.Frost, 12-8 loss to Bailey, 7-6 loss to Yarbrough, 6-4 loss to Latona, etc.

However, he has had lots of injury issues in college, missed his entire first season at Pitt (after already spending a year at Navy Prep) and only wrestled four matches this year before going down with injury. Also, he appears to be moving up to 141 with this transfer, where he would be very short for the D1 level and obviously at Pitt that is the weight his little brother is at still. At 133 he would have been the presumed starter but the rumor is that his best friend/cousin Tallmadge is moving up from 125 and will man 133 next year. He is from about 45 minutes away from TCNJ and I know there is a good relationship between his family and that staff. I expected him to end up at Rider or a smaller PA/NY program but I think this will be a great destination for him and if he stays healthy a legitimate title contender there

You were reading my mind. From Front Office Sports:

However, not every transfer portal story is as successful as (UCLA WBB player Lauren) Betts’s. AD Advisors and sports analytics firm Timark Partners released a study Friday that indicated 70% of men’s basketball players from power conferences and the Big East who entered the transfer portal were unable to find a new school or transferred down. (The study placed schools in three tiers based on the amount of money spent on their basketball programs, and transferring down meant moving to a program in a lower tier.)

Moving to ostensibly smaller programs could still be beneficial for players seeking additional playing time or for other personal reasons. However, the effects of entering the portal—whether positive or negative—vary on a case-by-case basis.

OU has been rancid for a long time now. No way they are even close to keeping pace with OSU, even if they are slightly improving.  I did enjoy Braun's aggressiveness in his upset win over the kid from WVU.
