174: Hamiti mdec Kennedy 14-10

Kennedy has been a tough out for Hamiti.  Granted it was 2 years ago

01/22/23 DEC 4 - 3 (W) Hamiti

03/04/23 DEC 9 - 6 (W) Hamiti

I could see:

  • Caliendo getting a major, but off the top of my head I really only remember MM scoring bonus on Amine (I could be wrong about that).

Caliendo/Amine wrestled twice last year.  Both matches went to Sudden Victory

People are underselling Kennedy's ability this year (while Iowa fans have been overestimating it until recently).

Great point.  He's had a consistent career.  In duals like these we should expect a Holy Sh*t moment.  My bet would be the Fish/Teemer match.  That's the one that could have fireworks.

125: Spratley dec Cruz 3-0🤠

133: Ayala mdec Witcraft 4-3 🐤

141: Jamison dec Schreiver 6-4 🤠

149: Parco mdec Young 8-6 🐤

157: Teemer dec Fish 11-6 🐤

165: Caliendo dec Amine 14-6 🐤 (The walls are closing in on the 🤠)

174: Hamiti mdec Kennedy 14-10 🐤

184: Plott mdec Arnold 14-14

197: Buch mdec Surber 18-14 🐤

285: Hendrickson fall over Keuter 20-18 🤠

I could see:

  • Caliendo getting a major, but off the top of my head I really only remember MM scoring bonus on Amine (I could be wrong about that).
  • Hamiti getting only a decision, but I think Kennedy goes after him and leaves himself vulnerable to points being put on the board. I actually think Nelson would be a safer bet for the 🐤 to hold it to a decision.
  • Plott getting only a decision, but I went off what we have seen this season. Stock down on Gabe and Plott bonuses just about everyone not named Keckeisen (and Starr but they haven't wrestled).
  • Buch getting only a decision, but again I went off what I've seen this season. Stock way up on Buch in my eyes.
  • Hendrickson getting only a tech or major, but same as the previous two weights. Stock way up on Hendrickson in my eyes.

So yes, I think the 🤠  have a path to victory. I don't think they even need to wrestle a "perfect" dual. But I see the 🐤 having multiple paths to victory. I will be in attendance and will be my first CHA experience. Very excited.

You are in for a treat. I have gone to CHA twice for PSU duals and the atmosphere was electric. Be sure to wear you Oklahoma State gear for the full experience.

Nice. When I went I wore Penn State gear and got some friendly needling from Iowa fans. But the absolute best was when a kid around 9 or 10 years old saw me and got a complete look of disgust on his face.

Someone’s getting Carvered

Spratley dec Cruz 3-0 OSU

Ayala maj Wittcraft 4-3 Iowa

Jamison dec Schriever 6-4 OSU

Parco dec Young 7-6 Iowa

Teemer Dec Fish 10-6

Caliendo Dec Amine 13-6

Brands Dec Hamiti and wins the spot but I’m picking Hamiti to make the finals 16-6

Plott Dec Ferrari 16-9

Buchanan Dec Surber 19-9

Hendrickson maj Kueter 19-13

Hendrickson is pinning Kueter.  That's the only prediction I've got

125 Spratley dec Cruz 3 0
133 Witcraft maj Ayala 3 4
141 Jamison dec Block 6 4
149 Young dec Parco 6 7
157 Fish dec Teemer 6 10
165 Amine dec Caliendo 6 13
174 Hamiti maj Kennedy 10 13
184 Plott dec Ferrari 13 13
197 Surber dec Buchanan 13 16
285 Hendrickson pinfall Kueter 19 16

I have the least amount of confidence in Plott over Ferrari. If Arnold takes the mat I am more confident in a Plott win. If Brands goes instead of Kennedy, I think it tightens it up but I still have Hamiti by a hair.

On the other side, I am least confident (though still pretty confident) in Caliendo over Amine. I can talk myself in to a plodding Amine win in SV or ride outs if I had to.

Haha, no, but I might also point out that Buchanon wrestled Surber’s backup to a 2-0 decision at the Soldier Salute.

It was a close match. Cant remember was it a morning semi before finals; might be some reason to slow pace. There are multiple reasons for a Red Shirt. Not always because they're a 'backup' 😉 I put more stock in the recent duals

The margins in your wonderful except for that Hendrickson runs into pinfall.... So close...
