College headgear worn by high schoolers

Saw that Anthony Knox (Beast of the East) and Alessio Perentin (Powerade) are both sporting Cornell headgear in tournaments.  Great marketing.

Any other schools doing this?

Ethan Kyle did this in 2002 while still in High School in Mo. After committing to Oklahoma State, he wore a headgear with their colors his Sr year.

My kid wore an Ohio State headgear his freshman year of HS and in January a ref dinged him for it.

one of my favorite things to do is when a ref makes a stupid call like that i ask them to cite the exact page number from the nfhs rule book that it talks about whatever they dinged them for.

I think a good idea is to not notice ticky-tack things like that.  I have a lot on my mind when I ref!  (aka discretion)
