Except that big one lost without even ever getting to a trial, so strike one, big guy:

https://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2024/09/23/smiledirectclub-loses-appeal-in-lawsuit-against-nbc-news/75307873007/

And the other is still in litigation, so strike two.  If Maddow et al lose, more power to them.

Meanwhile, Fox already lost.  It's over.  And at a scale far, far beyond the Maddow case you referenced.

Want to try again?

You never answered my question...and overall point...SO WHAT??  What are you trying to say...only Fox News lies??  If you are, then you are blind as a partisan bat can be and it isn't worth arguing over.  At least be honest and say it instead of trying to make tiresome partisan talking points which hold no water and you are no better than the other partisan hacks on here who aren't worth debating with.

I'll give you a hint to my overall argument on this...shhhh...this may be a secrete to some...but they ALL lie in one shape form or another.

Sort of a silly thing to say on your part.

Was Obama your hero because you voted for him?  How about whomever else you voted for...were they your "hero"??

it's certainly true that fox paid a settlement for 'lying' about dominion voting machines.

obviously not a good thing, but it's one thing.

i watch all networks. Fox anchors/personalities make sense. even if they obviously 'lean' one way, they are realistic.

every other news network has editorial that is downright fantastical and sensational.

they constantly piss in your ear in the hopes that at some point you just believe it.

if you don't believe me, believe the election results. you had 95% of media telling you one thing while half the nation voted for the sanity from the other 5%.

all you left wing loonies will refute this, of course, which is why we are where we are...

because you think Rachel Maddow and Joy Reid and Joe Scarborough and Dana Basch and The View are reasonable people and not the bat *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* crazy fear mongers they actually are and that, thankfully, a significant portion of the country sees right through.

to wrap it back around - Fox News isn't perfect - but citing 1 lawsuit to refute that the rest of MSM is fair and balanced and a bunch of do-gooders is really rich. They are nutbags, out of touch, and a campaign arm for the absolutely nonsensical policies of progressive idiocy.

B.S. Maybe so if you watch news on TV, but plenty of more neutral sources online. Reuters is one example of many.

I am glad Kamala will not be president.   I would prefer De Santis were going to be president.  But I liked the policies of 2017 to 2021 and am looking forward to similar policies the next 4 years.

It is apparent many feel the same.   There is no hero worship for Trump on my part.  He is a man with many flaws.  I stated many times I did not want him to be the R choice for President.   But he was.  He did well for the country when he was president.  I did not want a repeat of the 4 years we have suffered through, so Kamala was not my choice.

The only hero status I have for him is that he put it in the face of the Ds and media and everyone could see how they lie and hide the truth.   I think also, they could see how the Ds and the media were for censorship which is apparent in the prosecutions they have done against ordinary citizens as well as admissions by facebook and twitter.   I think they also saw the border for what is it was rather than what we were being told.   When you have illegal alien gangs taking over apartment buildings, you cannot say this is an isolated case and not to worry.   It obviously will come to a neighborhood closer if nothing is done.   And nothing was being done.   Actually, we have a lot to be thankful for that we now know these things as a country and are not led to and fro with every wind of change.   We see clearly what the last 4 years has done to our country.  The Ds have no one to blame but their own arrogant selves.

I don't consider that hero worship when I wish it wasn't him that was going to be president.

"War is peace.  Freedom is slavery.  Ignorance is strength."

Fox News paying the HIGHEST SETTLMENT IN US HISTORY FOR A MEDIA COMPANY FOR LYING actually means nothing because you don't like the other side.

Either way, I'm not shilling for MSNBC or CNN.  Again, I don't watch ANY cable news unless it's a video clip that makes it's way into my algorithm.  Fox News "makes sense" to you because it agrees with your world view.  But you're trying to draw comparisons between two companies who have not been forced to pay 3/4 of a billion dollars for lying vs. one who has, and claiming the one who has paid that money is the more trustworthy one then the other, because of your opinion on their (MSNBC & CNN) politics.

With CNN and MSNBC ratings dropping like a rock, MSNBC for sale, Jeff Bezos calling for big changes at WP, I’ll bet Fox isn’t losing sleep over the Dominion settlement.

No, I never said that "only Fox News lies."  There are levels to lies, of course.

If you were to say "Vak voted for Trump", that would be a lie.

If I said "BigBrog is a convicted sex offender" that would presumably be a lie.

So, are they the same thing?  I mean, they're both lies!

And I'm good on hearing about anything you're secreting

No.  And my statement was not made based on who he voted for. You’re just jumping to that assumption.  Why you are just jumping to that assumption is for  you to work with.

One lie?

Fox’s legal strategy was that they lie so much, you should know anything coming out of a commentator’s mouth is a lie.

Just read U.S. District Judge Mary Kay Vyskocil's opinion, leaning heavily on the arguments of Fox's lawyers: The "'general tenor' of the show should then inform a viewer that [Carlson] is not 'stating actual facts' about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in 'exaggeration' and 'non-literal commentary.' "

She wrote: "Fox persuasively argues, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer 'arrive with an appropriate amount of skepticism' about the statement he makes."

Vyskocil, an appointee of President Trump's, added, "Whether the Court frames Mr. Carlson's statements as 'exaggeration,' 'non-literal commentary,' or simply bloviating for his audience, the conclusion remains the same — the statements are not actionable."

Hey, I think of us as friends, so if you want to sit down and watch cable news next to each other, I guess I'm down.  Seems like a lame use of time, but maybe at NCAAs?

For you to sit here and straight-faced say that Fox News has "one lie" is something, though.

We can also go back through the history and see where you are quick to jump on and vilify certain liars any chance you get, but are also just as quick to give this guy a pass and defend him at every turn, even though he is one of the worst liars in politics and his lies have a history of leading to violence.  But he’s okay.  Thats hero status characteristics.

We could also go back through the history of just this thread, and see where you took the practice of ripping people off, not paying financial obligations so he can maintain and increase wealth while victimizing others…and called him genius.   That’s hero status characteristics.

We could also look through the history of this thread and see where I didn’t say anything about worship. You did. In fact you did to the depth of typing it multiple times, and feeling the need to defend yourself against it in more than one post, even though worship was never mentioned by anyone but you. Psychologists would have a field day with that fact, and it is another hero status characteristic.

But it’s okay. We all have heroes. We just all have different qualities by which we choose them.

i wasn't thinking of the 'shows' ... i.e. the Tuckers and Hannity and (lord help us, Laura Ingram)

I'm saying the 5am to whatever Noon 'news'.

the tenor of Fox to any of the others is night and day.
