Vito for bronze, DT in repechage.   Green and Burroughs out.   Not how this was expected to go I think.   But it is not surprising.

JB has been at this a long time and and Father time was bound to get the best of him.   But he did better than most anyone his age in the highest level of sport.   Green has been our best for a long time.

Thank you JB and JG for all the years of excitement you have provided us.    Best of luck to Vito and DT in your upcoming matches!!

Thats the best 20 year old to ever grace a wrestling mat.

Sadulaev won the Rio Olympics at age 20. He already had two senior world championships at that point.

Was it... a RUSSIAN 20? 😏

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

serious bottle job by nohkodi if that was the last time JB steps foot on the mat and I did not get to watch it because of flows stream crashing I will be rather upset.

If at this point you don't expect Flo to mess up the coverage then I don't know what to tell you.  There is an old saying in Tennessee. I know it's in Texas. It's probably in Tennessee.  Fool me once shame on... shame on you.  Fool me... you can't get fooled again.  Yet somehow you have been fooled again.

If you're not already a Flo subscriber a UWW+ pass for the world championships is only 8 Euros and all you need is a VPN to sign up.  Much cheaper than a month of flo.  The only real reason to subscriber to Flo are the USAW events and domestic youth tournaments.

Flo is just recasting the stream, which dropped on UWW's site originally. So, although your point about catching this event for cheaper by going through UWW stands, your point about flo "messing up" coverage (at least this time) is not valid.

Meanwhile... 55Kg womens bronze medal match.

USA Villaescusa was up 3-0 in the 2nd only to give up two 2 point moves to lose the bronze medal to France's Debien.

So Sad was losing right up to the last few seconds when he got a 4 pointer?   That is amazing and does not spell good things for DT if he makes it to the Bronze medal match against the Iranian.

That actually says a lot of for the Iranian.   Sad did what Sad does which is win, but he rarely is in the position of being behind and needing a herculean effort to win.   Great that he did but I think this says a lot for Ghasempour.

Styles make matches and if I was betting I'd rather Taylor wrestle Ghaz than Sad.  If DT is dialed in he is more than capable of winning this match.  Despite the earlier results still consider him the favorite in this match if it happens

Agreed.  I'm just not sure this is the same DT.  He gave up go behinds to Trent Hidlay.  I love Trent, but he is no Ghasempour.  I have concerns about 2024 DT.  I hope I am wrong.  I do know that DT knows how to wrestle Iranians, so fingers are crossed.

Believe Satiev was 20 when he  won his first gold medal at an Olympic weight (74kg)...Ono can't hold a candle to Buvaisar

100% with you on not being sure if he's the same guy.  Hopefully he has one left in him and rides off into the sunset

I was in attendance when he won 95 worlds at the age of 19.  And he looked 19.

He is my all time favorite.  So creative.  Sometimes he wrested like a heavy weight.  Then he'd work through a sequence and look like a 57kg wrestler.  He was truly special

Agree.  It still isn't a great matchup, given Ghaz's uber-stingy defense.  Sort of like Taylor wrestling Cox or Dake, which seldom went well for Taylor.  But it is winnable.

It's extremely unlikely he ends up having the career Buvaisar did however he beat a 3x world and olympic champ 10-2 and a world champ 12-0 Id have to see what satievs run was like his first year and who he beat.

NO DT, JB or JG.

Dake will not age backwards forever.

I think the only one who repeats is Snyder. Are we sure Spencer Lee wants to continue wrestling?

If the question is who enters the 2028 OTT or non-oly WTT then I think it is the following:

SHOWS UP

Lee

Vito

Brooks

Snyder

Parris

OUT

Retherford

Green

Dake

Burroughs (shoes on the mat tomorrow)

Taylor (shoes on the mat tomorrow)

Where and when tomorrow is JB leaving his shoes?  Is he gonna run out in between bouts?  I've only seen wrestlers take their shoes off at the conclusion of a match they wrestled in.
