The only particular issue I'm aware of is the one where he refused to let Burwick go to Nebraska (and its not like Burwick was a huge difference maker, which made it seem more about pettiness instead of looking out for the interest of his team).  He doesn't get along with AWA people so that hurts the program, but that doesn't mean he's a bad guy.  Lots of good people may not get along with each other.  But it seems like he has been bad for the program!  I dont have any personal details or anything like that.

I've always considered you @ionel & @nhs67 the Three Turdskateers.  But what's up with @flyingcement and his negative thread?  Election season getting the best of him?  I want Fly Flanders back

IIRC, some people were not happy with how McDonough’s departure happened and thought Bono pushed him out for Gross.   And of course now Gross is gone too

I have only had limited contact with Bono.  I don't like some of these things that I have heard about him in recent years, but out of the two times that I met him , I have one positive story to share.

Probably 15-20 years ago, I was working a camp with a number of big names.  One of the featured clinicians was a product of the Bobby Douglas coaching tree.  Bono, also a Douglas tree member, was working another camp 45 minutes away.  Bono showed up at the camp I was working at to hang out with this other individual.  Before you know it, Bono is grabbing a counselor and teaching technique on a mat to a group.  He did an entire 2 hour technique session that he wasn't asked to do, and did not expect payment.  He got a meal out of it and hung out with the staff and that was enough for him.

Re AWA dispute, rumor was that Bono wouldn't let Askren use Wisco facilities during covid. I have zero actual knowledge whether that's true.

Regardless, if you're the flagship school in your state, you've got the best wrestling club in the nation in your backyard, and they're actively directing their wrestlers elsewhere, you're doing something wrong.

If during Covid then that was a little bit above Bono's pay grade, university admin were making those decisions.

I am disappointed this wasn't an interview of me.

I am more disappointed that it is an interview of a definable Turdbiscuit.

I think I speak for most on these here boards in saying we are all disappointed.

It seems to be par for the course for the Wiscy fans, unfortunately.

Agreed, considering how Askren acts whenever he talks about Bono there’s gotta be more to it than that

Bono voted for Biden and called crypto a scam. It's been Askren's personal mission to destroy him since that fateful afternoon.

Well, McDonogh was one of the few Iowa guys Askren liked, and he was let go... so there's that.

And Ben was/is tight with Wick and Moran, and I think they both  had  fallings out with Bono as well.

I'm obviously not a Wisconsin fan and Bono's coaching methodology is not one I would seek out personally, but the way some of the local fan base has turned on him on message boards and social media is really self-destructive to a program.

Fans ripping on their own coach certainly doesn't help recruiting, fund raising, or inspiring future prospective coaches to go to Madison.

Can you please go into a little more detail about how Bono refused to let Burwick go to Nebraska?

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

I think your side of the story is far more likely.  His pen just happened to keep running out of ink, is that correct? 😄
