The disparity of depth of weight classes this year in the NCAA is insane.

Deep Weights

165

197

133

285

Not Deep

157

125

141

I know I am in the minority here but I think that 157 is pretty tough weight class. Will Lewan, Ed Scott and Brayton Lee are ranked outside of the top 8 right now.

149 is looking very interesting and deep this season. Will anyone challenge O'Toole at 165 this season? Deep weight, but he just looks so hard to score on.

So what changed about 149 this year? Wasn't the consensus last year that 149 was one of the weakest weights, Yianni excepted?

i think 125 is pretty bad. 141 as well.

125 does have a lot of former AA's. but their consistency leaves a lot to be desired.

141 has 3 former AA's, but they were 5/6/7 and don't exactly light the world on fire.

TBD

I hope Prata gets on the podium. He’s a true team guy and battled some pretty tough injuries. I hated to see him transfer to Oklahoma

He looked great in the bedlam match.

I know this an overly simplified way to look at things but if 141 was easy and 133 and 149 were hard…. Wouldn’t guys be flocking from 133 and 149 to 141? It’s 8 pounds up or down

thats why someone has to control the flock and gets paid the big bucks

if you think 141 is tough then who am i to tell you differently.

but imo i think it's one of the worst weights in quite a while. i'm not gonna do the work, but i think you'd have a hard time finding a weight class where the top returner was 5th. and to add to that, there isn't depth. who do we think is elite here?

I agree with you more than disagree but am just surprised that guys didn’t move in to try to win a national championship. Fix always looks large at 133 and he would be the front runner at 141 presumably. I do think that the top 3 or 4 at 141 are very solid wrestlers but wouldn’t consider any elite. Swiderski could be elite eventually but isn’t there yet.
