Something is slightly disingenuous about that answer.   I can’t put my finger on it tho.

This BS happens over and over again on this website.

"I'm not voting for Harris"

Next question from you idiots:

"Why are you voting for Harris?"

I am not a democrat. I've never voted for a democrat (Bernie Sanders is an independent). I did not vote for Joe Biden in 2020.

The reason you can't wrap your heads around this - and there's no nice way to say this - is you guys have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. There are people on here who think Kamala is "to the left" of Sanders. LAUGHABLE. INSANE. You just swallow whatever lazy bait the right wing media floats out there for you. (@mspart)

She's a moderate democrat with strong corporate ties and backers who would be a center-right politician in almost every other developed nation. I am a democratic socialist. If you want to know my politics, look at Scandinavia. Kamala ain't even close.

If everyone would be what they should be then we will be where we can be and what should've been will be what could've been and we'll no longer be unburdened by what coulda shoulda been.

she has a law degree, was a prosecutor/DA for 20 years, then state attorney general, then senator. 30 years of public service.

still not gonna vote for her, but not going to pretend she’s any less qualified than the typical candidate.

Actually, don't need to.   The ballots are already being altered and signed for you.

All political BS aside... she did FAR MORE than Donald has ever done in terms of service to our country.

The only chance for Donald ended with his bone spurs. Poor little Donald. What a pussy.

i just don't know how anyone hears her speak, or looks at her record while in office and thinks she's a good candidate.

i've yet to meet/hear from someone that can outline her platform or agenda or cite literally any significance she's made as VP.

to me she's Biden 2.0 in every facet that matters - a bumbling idiot with no backbone that can (and has been) used as puppet.

all that being said, it kinda dawned on me yesterday that despite their (Joe/Kamala) obvious baffoonery the american voters are so crazy that had they not left the border open and incurred all the damage that came along with it, this election wouldn't even be a thing. in short, had they left trump's border policies in place, a DEM would win this election in a landslide.

I think her platform is just that she isn't Trump. It's stupid that we are basically having the exact same election for the third time in a row. If Desantis had won the nomination, I don't think this would be close.  Trump is probably still the favorite, but it is way closer than it should have been given the circumstances...And Trump keeps self-sabotaging with things like picking J.D. Vance as V.P. and pretending to not understand that people can be biracial to attack her for being black (neither of those things will play well in the suburbs).

When Biden was the nominee, Trump was running an extremely disciplined campaign and basically just letting Biden implode with his ineptitude...Now that whole thing is out the window and we have one candidate attacking the other for being "weird" and the other attacking based on racial identity. Not our finest hour.

billy that's a good post.

only thing i disagree with is that the msm is spinning Trump's 'she's not black' thing into another 'very fine people' thing.

what trump was saying, and what people like myself take issue with, is not that she's this or that, but that she grifts on it depending who the audience did. of course biden did the same thing every time he appeared in front of a certain group...

"i was raised in a black church"

"i was raised with puerto ricans"

"i was raised catholic"

etc etc

to be clear on where i stand though - i don't care what race, color, or creed she is. i think she's not intelligent, devoid of any original thought, and an unserious person.

i think she's nothing more than a puppet and rather dangerous if in position to lead any nation.

That is a nuanced point that is fair. I’d argue it’s not a political winner compared to focusing on immigration or inflation because when you have parents from different races you don’t have to decide which you identify with-you can identify with both. And you can emphasize the different experiences at different times.

However, he didn’t make that nuanced point. His exact words were “all of a sudden she’s black” when she has always been biracial. If anything, she has identified more with being black since she went to Howard. I don’t think she had some political plan in mind when she did that. If he focused on her being far to the left of Biden, I think he’d be much better off than what he has done.

i don't disagree. personally, at this point, i find the racial identity back and forth (from both sides) juvenile and boring.

to me, where it may once have served a real purpose for change, that ship has sailed.

i'd much rather get back to the constituency having their focus on policy and data.

thats why no one voted for her the first time around

They're close to right attack with Kamala with the "unqualified" thing, but they can't help but tie it to race with the DEI insult. That turns off normal people who see someone who has accomplished more than 99.9999% of people.

What they should be doing is exactly what the left did to Kamala in the primary. She's an empty shell who believes in nothing but her own advancement. Politics is a series of career achievements, not a self-sacrificing means to help people.

THAT is why she failed in the primary. She tried to redefine herself as a progressive because she thought that was the path to victory and progressive primary voters saw right through it. She came up in the party as a tough on crime prosecutor and AG because that was an effective way to climb the ranks. She abandoned it when she thought it no longer was an advantage because she never believed in it in the first place.

She never formed a strong national identity because *she doesn't actually believe in anything.* Against any other candidate, she wouldn't be competitive, but Trump is enough of a negative motivator for dem voters to make this thing close.

This is true.   She's unqualified because she is incompetent.   See video above.
