I was reading the Coleman to Ohio State thread and its implications on Jax and it just made me think about all these kids right now that feel like they could instantly change the trajectory of a program. Thinking of 2024-2027 you have these guys I'm probably missing some. If I were to set an over under as crazy as it seems Id probably go 3.5.

Blaze

Jax

Lilledahl

Bo

Duke

Melvin Miller

Connor Mirasola

Dee lockett

While that is an impressive lineup, I have to go under. We just got our first year with two at the same time.

Definitely the practical take. Where they end up weight wise will be huge obviously too. Blaze and Jax may be two of the likely candidates but I could see them both at 141/149. Lockett and Duke could be the same weight as well.

You’re more likely to have 0, 4 time champs than 3 or even 2.

Spencer Lee, Mark Hall, Kyle Snyder, Dustin Schlatter, David Taylor, J’Den Cox….

Being a 4X champ rarely happens, and it’s not usually the guys you’d think it would be.

Bruv, imagine Bassetino, Blazer, and Jax all end up in the same weight

2 of the 3 would be sitting then when they go to PSU.

Maybe, but have hope. There's a lot of Bass in Iowa and Bo seems to like to fish for attention

BTW, I can't believe I didn't think to call Forrest the LumberJax in my previous post

Crazy to look at that list and say zero, but if I had to pick one, I’d pick Mirasola.  I think he is great today and will compete in a weight class with less high quality competition. The other guys will likely cross each other or other 2-4x champs in their way.

Except when did we have a freshman HWT champ?

1.5 is a much better line and even then I'm taking the under.

I’d definitely take the over there.  We just had 2 in one year and another the year before.

Why would a 197lb wrestler be competing at 285 at NCAAs?

McCready & Hutton.

McCready was not a freshman champ.

Craig Henning got screwed in the 2007 NCAA Finals.

Hutton remains the only freshman UNL/275/285 to win a championship. It is noteworthy that it happened in the short window post WW2 where freshman were eligible and he did it as a 23 year old freshman. Though I am sure many of the guys he wrestled were of similar age.

Only three others have made the final. John Witte for Oregon State in 1952 (and never wrestled again, moving on to football), Tommy Rowlands for Ohio State in 2001, and Steve Mocco for Iowa in 2002.

Which two are winning four?

Taking a rough stab at my order of probability, the order in the OP looks pretty close but I think I’d flip Duke and Bassett, and Mirasola and Miller.
