are they? I'm blocked....

Just another post-NCAA downward spiral by Tom Ryan.  Nothung extraordinarily out of character.

Basically someone said something about Michigan and transfers, no mention of NIL.  Pyle responded and said every top 10 program, non-Ivy, has had a transfer.  Someone posted some schools, tOSU was on their list.  Pyle was like 'nah bro' and pointed out a few of the transfers - again not saying NIL was involved.  Ryan took it as an insult that NIL was mentioned (it wasn't) and has looked rather silly.

Pyle and tOSU's Tom Ryan going at it on Twatter.

It's great.

Ryan talks all high and mighty but the amount of shenanigans that happened with bringing in McKenna is worse then all this Michigan NIL money, not to mention Tashon Campbell announced he was transferring to Ohio state literally the day after ncaas a few years back

Ryan's implication, that he isn't using the portal cause he's so ethical, is a joke. He just happened to have a young talented team and it makes no sense to shop for seniors over them.

I have questioned how long Tyler Wells will be able to make 133 for. I wouldn’t mind a redshirt, kind of how Mike Thorn and Mitch McKee wrestled right away and took some lumps initially and were very good there final 3 years, McKee never redshirted though.

I'm should point out that i'm glad pyles is mixing it up with Ryan, which flies in the face of my usual characterization of Pyles.

I don’t think he’s saying he’s more ethical than the other coaches. Just that the three transfers the buckeyes got was pre NIL which is different than what’s happening now

Thanks and noted!

I think its a great fit for him and whoever called out that he would prioritize academically strong institutions for his next landing spot was correct.

I've seen him say a few times that "we stuck with our guys" in reference to the portal. He's either saying this as a non-sequitur, or its a rhetorical device designed to imply that he is more loyal than other coaches.

He’s not lying…. They have stuck with their own recruits except for those three transfers years ago

But they’ve tried to get transfers the last couple years, and by some accounts tried pretty hard, they just haven’t gotten any. That’s why his act that they’re above the portal is so disingenuous.

Wow great move! But what does that mean for weight class?

Can he make 165? Have to think that's the only option unless Olguin isn't coming back. Always liked Harman, best of luck to him.

Who have they tried to get, I honestly don’t know so I’m just asking…. And how reliable are these “accounts”

Agreed.  PSU (Dean, Kerk, Mesenbrink) and to a lesser extent Iowa (Caliendo) seems be the only teams I can think of bringing in transfers to bump R12/AA level guys out of the lineup.

You missed the biggest one of all. They recruited Truax over a 3x champ. Forced him to bump up if he wanted to make the team. Real cold stuff from Sanderson.

Impossible. Ohio State doesn't engage in the portal.

As a Cowboys fan I not so excited about the transfer of Fish!  Can someone list some of his biggest wins, because I'm not sure he's going to give us a boost or better yet even make the team.

He does have some good wins as mentioned so I’d expect him to start, he finished R16 this year and R12 2 years ago so he should probably be in that range, maybe a shot to low AA — so not really adding a ton of points.

Should help them in the ISU dual though.

If Hamiti is going 174 and Thomspon is redshirting, who did you expect to go 165 if Fish did not transfer in?
