Given the option they would have opted out of those like they did NDI….Cael only does what he’s forced to and leaves his fans to defend the wins as “beatdowns” when most matches the win are by decision or contrary to what a normal person would consider a beatdown. With that mentality I think they’d seriously consider and might be better suited for the ACC if given the opportunity…

Some give the wrestlers time to work on specific moves or tactics live, not just in the room. Every match risks injury no matter the ranking of the competitor. When Gary Kurdelmeier & then Dan Gable took Iowa to Championships we heard the same whining. Especially loud as Gable's guys put together nine straight Titles. Cries of packing the room, "fixed" matches and under the table money were made. The formula then was as it is now. Good coaching that good kids believe in and the willingness to do the work required to be the best. David Taylor has the drive and is getting the talent. Would love to see Home & Home duals with PSU. I’ve been vocal about Penn State and what they’re doing being great for the sport. Their fanbase can be an issue…like most dynasties 90% of their fans weren’t even around beforehand and they talk crazy like every win is a “beatdown”…when the reality is it wasn’t. At best Cael is avoiding an OSU dual for juvenile reasons. And they do the bare minimum scheduling…it’s fine. Shouldn’t be an issue to say even from an entitled fan not even associated with the team.

No offense Stanford and Michigan fans. They’re not the power houses you’re pretending they are. And if the B1G didn’t make them wrestle teams they’d likely not participate with top level teams like they are now…NDI, OSU etc. It’s not personal…

And if the B1G didn’t make them wrestle teams they’d likely not participate with top level teams like they are now…NDI, OSU etc. It’s not personal… As a Michigan fan, I take no offense because I am grounded and can see the product we have put out over the last few years, basically since our trophy run almost 5 years ago. A lineup that runs out with 1.5 holes in it is not a competitive lineup. Even if the national rankings suggest that team is better than 85% of the rest. Most college rosters and lineups have a guy or two or three who are not world beaters and not expected to make huge pushes late in the season. Teams like PSU and OSU are polar opposites - they have 10 studs top to bottom and another one waiting behind each of them ready to take their turn and make the most of it. That’s real team building and recruiting and development. Michigan and Stanford, and most other programs (if not all), do not have that. The talent is spread much more thinly, and thus those teams will continue to be less competitive against an OSU or PSU, for obvious reasons. Maybe that changes with 5/5 some, but yeah, comparing PSU wrestling to Michigan wrestling and pretending there is some kind of measuring stick there is definitely something. 1
