In which matches would the team score meaningfully change? Ohio State had backups in, but their starters don't take any match they lost.

Right...for promotion they need for their programs betterment and things needed to support their team to perform better. If they are doing things for any other reason they aren't doing their jobs well.

yes - losing Ben Askren turned it into the equivalent of the "list" spam articles that pop up on my phone. The last few shows especially I have turned off after a few minutes with CP monologues, random talking over each other, and no flow to the conversations. It's like it is made up on the spot.

The copium on this thread is amazing. EVERY coach is in it for themselves and is doing what they think is best for their team. I hope PSU does accept, but burned bridges don't get rebuilt that quick. The thought that PSU dominates because they magically have high seeds at nationals is an amazing stretch. They have high seeds because they have the top talent who places high in the toughest conference. Then most of the time they come close to matching or surpassing those seeds with insane win rates in the quarters, semis, and finals. Thinking there is anything deeper than that is just homerism.

He already had the TD with the cradle, sat him on the hip, and briefly exposed his back. Three progressions without a reaction. The only reaction was getting out of danger and the TD should already be rewarded.

Cradle knocked to a hip and exposed...that's 3 actions with no reaction. Reaction time should include just fighting off your back from there.

What we do is nothing and let the refs screw up.

So instead of a 9th place match you are just now having matches with people who ALL finished low via a qualifying tournament of those who didn't place? So what's the difference besides arbitrary numbers?

9th isn't arbitrarily a qualifying spot for anything though - the season's results have set the # of spots at a conference for qualification. Throughout the year (in this case) a set # of guys have proven to be in the top 27 or 28 in the country and earned the spots, if 9 happen to be in the Big Ten so be it. If 3 happen to be in the SoCon then they would get 3 spots. Its as close to getting the top 33 competitors as we have had while still giving everyone a path to earning their way in as well.

This - also have had close family dealing with these types of things & the look, speech patterns, and clear assuredness is the same watching these videos. IF anyone is using this to their own ends (via social media, articles, etc) they are not helping this young man. What team you root for shouldn't impact a person who needs some support & help from those close to him. Even non ill-intended people who try to say PC things about it may end up re-enforcing his beliefs & take away from what kernels they might have stemmed from. (An example was the usually great Quad Pod podcast which started as a "don't shoot the messenger regardless of the other stuff" take and took a soft veer into conspiracy and "I know something you don't know" rumors w/o actually saying anything).

He could not have stalled and won the match - it was inevitable he was getting tracked down by Haines & obvious to anyone watching the match up to that point. When a team never shoots sometimes they surprise the other - its the Nebraska playbook against PSU.

I mean up until that point Haines was chasing him & walked into that shot. Gameplay was to stall and get chased or that shot doesn't happenn right? Its a smart plan when outmatched.

This is the team that made rings or something for finishing 2nd...what do you expect.

Would you place cash on any of this or just hot air? Your saying line should be 2.5 essentially vs the field?

This...it was like the Ohio State match last year. Last night Minto had everything going right...extra point, uncharacteristically frustrated Haines from the backing up charging into a shot, poor ref and he still went out and took control and won. Haines looked liked Haines...he could get as many takedowns as he would of needed to win.

Outside of the bookends, pretty positive - will be interesting to see how much the delta is between USA and the top spot (barring a great USA finish) & the impact of those 2 results.
