As a hiring manager, would you rather sift through 200 resumes, or get a lead from a trusted employee that already works there.

As a director in my company, I am absolutely "sifting" through resumes to see if there MIGHT be a better qualified person for this position. Maybe there is, maybe there isn't. But I would not be lazy for this spot, this is basically the face of the company.

At the end of the day, I'm not surprised. People will find anything they can to take a shot at flo. I really don't understand. There are absolutely places where flo can be justly criticized. I think their UI and the navigability of their website is pretty horrendous most of the time and it's kind of shocking how little they seem to do to improve it, and they've had some major hiccups in coverage over the years. But CP and this video should be damn near the bottom of complaints regarding flowrestling.

Here is the difference. There is a 90% chance Willie will read this, and he will see stuff like your comments about him and he will more than likely love it. If Pyles had the power, he would read this, and he would block you, or kick you off the site if he could. Pyles is in the same category as Minnow, a lot of talk, but they cannot take criticism. I am glad Flo is there, don't get me wrong. I pay for the subscription, there is some good content on there.  There are 2 guys that take a back seat to Pyles, that I believe are more knowledgeable and have better info than Pyles.

CP puts out videos regularly, makes predictions, and puts himself out there twice a week on FRL. If you think he can't handle criticism, you're delusional. Everyone that posts content to youtube, instagram, tiktok, etc. with any kind of viewership is going to get criticized in the comments. If he lived and died by commenters feedback he wouldn't still be in the business.

Who takes a backseat to CP that shouldn't be? If we were talking about being a guest clinician at a wrestling camp, sure I'd pick several others over CP, and he would be the first to suggest them. But watching the sport and talking about it is much different than breaking down outcomes position by position. Tony Kornheiser and Mike Wilbon have been doing Pardon the Interruption for 25 years and they're sportswriters who never played professional sports. 

And I don't understand this whole thing about "info." Do you mean inside info? If so, Flo is not in the newsbreaking business, and CP has said many times on the show that they "can't say anything yet" and so on. They talk about wrestling news, they aren't there to break it, so I don't think any of us know what CP knows or doesn't know in the wrestling world, but I'd guess it's a lot more than he shares out loud because he can't burn sources.

What CP brings to the table that no one seems to mention here is a little class, dignity and maturity.  Is he perfect…no. Is he a “professional”…perhaps not. But he always at least tries to keep it respectful and dignified and he’s into trying to do what’s best for the sport.  I personally enjoy listening to FRL.  I just wish Ben would come back full time to the show.

I think CP does well for a guy who didn’t compete in the sport at a high level. Not many guys can talk the talk who didn’t live that life.
 

Fairly knowledgeable and definitely tries to be professional. I have no issue with him bringing his kid on, Caleb loves wrestling and you can tell it’s his life. 
 

He for sure withholds some info or criticism of certain guys/teams because he doesn’t want to shake the apple cart. My biggest issue with him is he ball washes PSU, OK St, Iowa, etc… but can you really blame him? It’s a 3 horse sport and they are probably the ones paying the bills.

I'm not in here because I hate Pyles. I enjoy FRL.

He clearly has total creative control over Flowrestling content. If he wasn't in charge, then he wouldn't have done the recap with his kid. Nobody else at Flo can do that. They need to stick to branding better and not do a cheap recap like that and expect to just clip FRL later on. Have someone that isn't at the tournament working all weekend do it. I get that it's hard to do and you dont have much time after working an event.

I do not know the pecking order of FLO, but why not make Mark Bader the face of FLO? Is Bader an executive? I only have FLO because it is in the only game in town on a lot of wrestling info. ie. Brackets etc. Rant over, I feel better.

Let me try to explain again. WILLIE SAYLOR started all of this, he was the pioneer of what you see today. Sure, FLO has added a lot more to the platform, and CP ABSOLUTELY FELL into where he is today.  And, listen, he has blocked several people on social media, so criticism must bother him some. Keep your opinion, it is your right. For all the reasons you don't like Willie, I love him for it.  He owns it, and he doesn't apologize for it.  I say this all the time, If I played in the NFL, I would want to play for a coach that played in the NFL. Why? He would understand what I am going through and coach me accordingly. That is just me, and how I feel. It is hard for me to watch someone that has never been there and done that. Is that fair? it some people's eyes, they do not give a shit, and that is fine too. I also disagree on the info. You brought up Tony Kornheiser and Mile Wilburn (they suck too BTW) their station breaks news all the time, correct? Why shouldn't Flo be the leader in that? I mean you pay enough GD money for it.  Anyway, I digress, enjoy your day.

OK St ball washing started with David Taylor’s hiring too. I have a few posts from the Smith era that captured my “wow we did well and Flo doesn’t care” feelings lol

So they go with the trends. So what. FRL is not mandatory. I use Flo for watching matches and rarely come across Christian Pyles. To his credit he at least tries to bridge the gap for newbies
