Curious to know how others think Endene will do at heavyweight this next college wrestling season?

The move to heavyweight at Little Rock makes sense with Stephen Little at 197 and as a training partner.

Also, I know Endene has competed in freestyle at 97kg and won Pan Ams and was a U23 world team member. I suspect he plans to compete in freestyle at 97kg post college, which makes the move to heavyweight a good plan for the future. Also, heavyweight seems to have cleared out quite a bit with graduations.

As lean as he was at 197, I imagine he could hit a buffet a couple times and be at 230 no problem. My question is…how is the strength & conditioning coach at UALR, the dietician, etc. They’re the key to a move like this.

Depending on how big he gets (factoring in his height), I see him as a mid-level AA, maybe high AA if everything goes right (and with Little as a training partner).

With heavyweight cleared out I can see him being an AA contender.  I don't know what he walks around at but when he made the u23 team at 97kg, I thought he looked full sized and that was with making 197 in mind.  I see him similar to a Christian Carroll build, stocky and super explosive.

Kueter is the highest returning all American at heavyweight.  I don't see Mo moving up to heavyweight unless he believes he can beat Kueter.  I think Endene can win the whole thing.  Heavyweight is wide open next year

Would add to the seemingly endless list of guys doing better at heavyweight than 197.

Maybe...Or can't beat Little, or doesn't want to take Little's spot, or doesn't want to go 197 ever again.

He will slot in well as a 225-230 type. Any more and his gas tank will get hit from making a big jump too fast. He will fit well against the top threats as they will all be the same range (Kueter, Feldman, Mirasola).

Wrestlestat already has him ranked #1 and as we learned from their Big 10 seeds, they are prettttty spot-on.

A 5'6 Gabe Arnold was an All-American at 197.   No reason to think that a 5'11 Endene can't do the same at heavyweight.

Is Endene really 5’11’?? What is Elam, like 6’10” then?

I think he (Elam) is not quite as built as Endene especially in the Delts and upper Traps and it lends itself to his body looking longer. If Endene is 5’11”, I’d expect Elam to be closer to 6’1” or so

He is 0-2 when trying to complete a full semester of competition at the D1 level.  Is the third time a charm?  He definitely has the talent, hopefully LR is the right fit.

Would Endene be the first and maybe last to be an AA at three different levels?

2x AA at Iowa Lakes @174 (came in as a 165)...then @197

3x NC at DIII Wartburgh

2nd year in D1

Let's let AJ have a field day with this one....

Is Endene left Iowa cause he wanted to redshirt and go HWY next year, a lot of credit to the Brands' for just not explaining that while all the idiots were saying it was cause they hate babies.

Maybe it is just the arm length or something but Rocky looked like he had 6 inches on Endene.

I agree.  Think maybe Endene’s height on his stat sheet might be a little off.

Endene has wrestled 7 D1 matches total.

There is no guarantee he can wrestle 5-7 matches in a 3 day tournament successfully up a weight.      I hope he does well but I think its a big question mark on whether he can AA.

Just curious how he has eligibility, if you what you say is correct:

2years at JUCO

3 years D3

Year at Iowa

Pending year at Little Rock

I understand 2021 covid, redshirt and medical redshirt.  But if you already had 5 post seasons, aren't you finished.  Thought if you wrestled in post season that's not a redshirt unless it was 2021 covid year.

Curious why he has eligibility left ?   Juco doesn’t count ?

I believe it is grey area, but yes that is essentially how Diego Pavia was allowed to play for Vandy this year.  He sued and won after the court ruled the Juco years didn't count.
