Meyer isn't coming for free and Nebraska doesn't have the budget to have that much NIL in redshirt.  It makes sense that Nebraska kicked the tires (who wouldn't) which led to Mineo running with it but it seems like a pipe dream.

Nebraska does have the money.. they arent paying a boat to aj either which opens up more $$

With MM returning and probably staying at 165, does anyone transfer to a place where they expect you go up to 165 and use your last year of eligibility? RS I can see but other than that I doubt it.

Completely agree. It's an investment to pay a recruit that RS's because you get the payoff by having 4 years of him in the lineup. Paying a transfer to RS and then only getting 1 year on the investment is foolish. Just wait until next year and offer someone a bag to come in.

Right. I don't know if Shapiro has the kind of leverage to command a big salary anyway. He's "good when he's good" but risk is that he seems like he's an injury away from hanging it up. Same with Kasak at PSU. Damaged goods.

Nebraska does not have the money to pay Shapiro for a redshirt year, they could get him to go right away though.

Meyer Shapiro has finished worse in each consecutive year. 3rd to 5th to 8th. Plus he's a health risk considering he was in a coma and had lung failure. Schools will pay but I'd be surprised if it was top dollar.

But why would kasak be damaged goods? he's a two time 3rd place finisher

Wasn't his head injury was more serious than originally assumed? I think people were comparing it to Zain's concussion.

He was in concussion protocol twice that year correct ?

I didn't think all that.

Protocol or not, he didn't wrestle like it was effecting him.  It is hard to fake it at that high a level if it is truly effecting you.

Money isn't a big factor in his decision

It isn’t, but he will still get a solid pay day and I would be surprised if it’s for 2 years.

I have heard they're both going up. That's why I put an if in front of the statement. I figured a potential title contender from the portal could force Stiles to stay down.

I'd be excited if Meyer Shapiro came to Ohio State.

Catrabone.

A redshirt seems necessary for Meyer Shapiro if he goes to Nebraska. Antrell and Arajuo at 157 and 165, which would be good practice partners there plus James Green, Lovett

Catrabone can go 65 or Meyer RS

Catrabone needs time.  He is one season up from 149lbs.
