It's Wrestling. They're all Me First guys when you come down to it. I mean...you have Drake Rhodes types(which I say with a great deal of respect...a '57/'65 going up and Wrestling Brooks was...ballsy). But your horses at a School like PSU...you're out there by yourself. I'd say Snyder was just as much a "me first" type guy when he was leaving OSU and Wrestling Freestyle...and I had zero issue with that.

I think the guy who'd benefit most from Wrestling multiple times would be Carr. I don't see HIM ducking. O'Toole is the defending Champ...not exactly lacking for confidence. Hard to envision him dropping. I'd really hope neither would duck, but we'll see.

Jesus...I don't know how Yianni slipped my mind. Yeah, I'll revise it to Lee and Yianni as the two closest to being locks. Can't see Gomez repeating his early season feat(even if he's healthy).

Lee is as close to a lock as you can get this year, but there's ALMOST never a "lock." Stevenson being the closest last year. I really think Lee can be beaten. Not likely, but as likely as Metcalf. I don't think I'd have Woods anywhere close to a lock. If I had to rank the most likely, it'd be Lee, Brooks, Starroci and then...I don't think I could think of a 4th "lock." O'Toole's a strong favorite. Too many locks have gotten beat for me to come up with more than Lee and, as I said, I think Glory MIGHT be able to put together the game plan to beat him if Glory is fat and healthy for that Sat Night.

Again, wrestling it for ~8 years, 4 times at Fargo, WTTs, being an All American in Greco, wrestling in every State Greco Tourney from 5th grade through HS, every Northern Plains(winning most in both)...I must not "know Greco." -ESPECIALLY not as much as someone...who again never stepped on the mat in ANY style! I just think it's too easy to see Facundo losing in the quarters and then seeing a stud on the backside). 174-1st 184-1st 197-4th HWT-1st I've been arguing Haines would win it since last year...provided Carr goes '65 and he did, so I'm not gonna jump off that bandwagon now. Of the 5 Champs, I think Brooks, Starroci, RBY, Kerkvliet and Haines are the most likely, in that order to win it. I'm a little surprised people are picking against Brooks. Less so that they're picking against RBY, but I think his loss was a fluke. But...that's why this tournament is so great. It'd hardly be shocking if any of these guys lost...or, if a vet like Dean can find a way to repeat or Bartlett can manage to get to the finals and win it.

Yeah, that kid is...NOT lacking confidence! I kinda like it. I also like how the kid headed to Iowa is calling him out. You can't be great without that level of confidence...you probably don't need to articulate it at all times and I personally preferred the manner in which Starocci's current head coach conducted himself on the mat, but when you win, you get to talk a little more.

I'm not shitting on Greco. I think all Wrestling, especially at the highest levels if incredible. I just think one is less incredible...and I'd have kept that to myself if not for just obnoxious bloviating by someone...again, I hate to hammer this point, but who NEVER Wrestled! LOL...the nerve to talk shit about how superior one style is and you've NEVER competed? Yeah, I AM having a little trouble with that. Having any respect for that opinion. That's ballsy IMO. Go tell Snyder or Stevenson they're competing in the Women's style, the soft style...they're not tough because they're not Wrestling Greco! As for Rutt...he was a stud. But when you come up with examples about how GREAT and superior Greco is using the NCAAs, you need to do a little better than going back a decade for a 1X AA. I'd have gone with Schultz personally, but even then, he not only got smoked by a Freestyle Wrestler because he was just a MUCH better athlete, but HWT's is the one weight that tends to favor Greco with the handfighting and how few people like to shoot and get under a HWT. You'll still see guys like Kerkvliet, Snyder, Gwiazdowski win 9X out of 10 when matched up with a Greco guy, but Christ, it's better than having to go back to Travis Rutt to make your point.

As I said...I had the most success in Greco. It's just a silly argument and coming back with basically, "nuh-uh," doesn't really sway me. I'd think if it was SO much more difficult, you'd find more guys who focus on Greco in the off-season...ya know, winning National Titles rather than citing a guy who took a 7th in...what, 2012?
