Sorry, I was referring to Division 1. They made Women's Wrestling a...can't remember the term for it(developing sport was effectively what it meant IIRC), but it basically gave them 10 years to reach 40 programs(the # required for an official Championship). That was just last year, so 7...looks like a good start.

Ignore the little man here. He feels like he needs to be a part of every discussion involving Greco on the board as he has watched lots of it.

I think it was a Bulgarian that I can no longer recall. But yeah, he lost in the '99(I thought '98 World Championships, but I'll go with you) and then like EVERY match back then, the Russians paid some cash and appealed it(whatever the fee was). Cary Kolat had about 9 Olympics stolen from him through that nonsense. They kept changing the rules based entirely on how badly he got screwed. He also lost another match...but the thing is with Karelin, a LOT of what is written down about him in Google, these mythical standards...they came from Rulon's coach gassing him up(not that he needed much, he WAS an animal). And then just nobody cared enough to fact check it.

What top wrestlers left eligibility on the table?.

I agree with them. Gross got screwed...Rivera. So many guys. Gross because I think people diminish his one title as a bit of a fluke. But it's hard to point out 3 guys who got it worse than those 3. They all deserved better. I...it's not worth rehashing it, but the choice to give the guys who didn't lose anything an extra year and not those who lost their senior seasons was baffling. -

Micic is the Ron Weaver of NCAA Wrestling. He's gonna show up in a few years at a small school starting his 5 years over again! -

Well...that would certainly make sense. He was an incredible technician. -
40 months where you can't compete...then after that, even if you have full time health, you've got a baby and you need to "rehab" your body to get back in shape. If you want a family, it's a MASSIVE hurdle for Women to overcome. Serena Williams got a lot of shit for saying "it's not fair," and that if she "was a man she wouldn't have to choose between her career and family," and...while that annoyed people as it's hard to convey tone in print if you're not a writer, she's right. It's not. It sucks. Kinda unavoidable. But it's amazing to watch the sport grow. I just went to watch Sectionals and...not having had children yet or a Daughter, I admit I forgot about the Girls. Got there and there was a pretty sizeable contingent, and I was impressed. Obviously some beginners, but there the level of Wrestling is just jumping each year. It's kinda sad how many sorta fringe Wrestling fans will shit on Women's Wrestling, but the real fans get it and appreciate Women's athletics... You seem to be more plugged in. What are the chances of getting to 40 teams in 10 years? Also, can we make sure Penn ISN'T one of those 40?

Al Gore invented the internet? Yes, nothing says "I won" more than bringing up that timely reference that's not at all unrelated to the subject at hand! I'm not sure how I took the L here by telling you I DIDN'T care about Greco any longer...and then you posting about who you apparently think is the sexiest Greco Wrestler, but sure. It's an L. Seriously though...it's great your proud of your kids. I mean, I personally probably wouldn't run my mouth about "real Wrestling," if I was wee-man and never actually Wrestled...but hey, you do you..."boo."

Huh...I gotta get TF off Twitter. I'm finding out about things that...I don't need to know about and that's crossing over into other area's. Sometimes I guess a zoo...is just a zoo!

Yup. Sit down, drink my smoothie and see what's going on. Usually starting by checking the three notifications I've got from you about what Greco Wrestler you think looks the best. Laugh, mock...then when I feel like it, go for the workout. Unless I'm running behind...then I just wait for your asshattery until it's more convenient.

I'm pretty sure he's saying this in response to the A in AWA saying Wrestler's don't get better under Bono after Hamiti lost to Carr earlier this year 7-5. So you kinda need that context otherwise it comes off...no offense Ivan, but kinda(totally) ridiculous.

Ahh...you're so cute You think YOU'RE the reason I wake up when I do!

Branch...8-9 going in. https://www.trackwrestling.com/tw/PortalPost.jsp?postId=866421135 Pretty good read IMO. A lot of self awareness kids don't always have.

That's funny, I don't look at Lee and think of him as one of the best technical Wrestlers of our era. One of the best obviously, but not this incredible technician. More like just a physically dominant wrestler. Not quite like his coach, but a little more in the build of his coach than a Cael like technician. Either way, however he gets there, he's undeniable. -
Yes...but the "I suspect I'm right," video was definitive proof!

Who on this board was the worst wrestler?

LOL...oh shit man, I am! I get to ride any Rollercoster I want and life's pretty good! -
Wait...what does this mean "his zoo operation?" I'd assume it was a joke, but I'm just finding out that there are these things called "zoophilia." I found out because I did not believe someone on the subject and they started tagging me in posts that...I cannot ever delete as they are stamped on my brain and the inside of my eyelids.

I suppose if you only Wrestled one year and you got thrown in vs some studs, that'd be a good way to run a guy off the team. I just have so much respect for guys who started late, stuck with it and grounded it out and helped us with a conference title or could stay off their back at team State. I had a teammate...started in 8th grade. He was about 180, I was 160 in 7th grade. He just loved it. He wrestled on the Middle School team and I did for the 2nd half of the year as well. Just to hang out with my friends and not take it as seriously. This guy was the type of guy who when we'd play handball in Gym class...with those REAL handballs, those hard leather balls. He loved being the goalie and would happily take 'em off the dome! But he wasn't real coordinated and I think he did get pinned or lose JUST about every match very badly. But he loved it. The next year he's asking me about Northern Plains and Freestyle and Greco State. So after the HS season was done, he came with us. He was...well, he was competing with guys who had more experience. He was strong, but...I don't believe he won a match. He was 0-2 in in both "off-season" State Tourney's, whatever it was. Anything he could get in, he did. I think he MIGHT have won a couple matches at smaller tournaments, but I also played Baseball, so I couldn't go to a lot of those. Things went much better for him on JV his Freshmen and Soph years...but he was still closer to .500. But he persisted. By his Sr year he was a starter and in the Regionals, he got a pin in the finals to lock it up for us and our entire team went nuts. Fell short of qualifying for State, but by now, he was close. Just had 2 guys who placed and he couldn't break through. I had more respect for him than just about anyone on our team. This sport can grind you down quickly...which is why I'd imagine there are a lot of guys who quit that 1st year, but he just NEVER gave up. I know this thread is supposed to be about posters on this thread, but guys who stick it out and keep working...I don't care if they didn't have impressive accomplishments, THAT is the impressive accomplishment IMO. -

Oh...it's ALL becoming so much clearer! The "Real Wrestling," vs "Women's Wrestling," and the tough talk. Just...putting all the pieces together. -
You even sound like a guy who never Wrestled! Claiming victory without having the balls to get onto the mat! Glorified Soccer Mom talking tough...sorry, I just can't help but laugh. You literally exposed nothing. You rambled on about how good looking you think a Greco Roman Wrestler is...which is especially weird given your first point for why that's "real Wrestling" but the rest isn't is the origin...and again, we know that's oiling up and Wrestling Naked. Really...you babbled on about Greco guys. And I said I didn't care? LMFAO...alright Soccer Mom!

https://harrysuke.wordpress.com/2015/11/16/greco-roman-vs-freestyle-wrestling/ Oh, and to answer your question, as they say in here, well over half the TDs are Single and Doubles. The vast majority of the rest come from throws that...ALMOST always involve stepping in and trippng...as one done in "not real Wrestling." Which...I guess means that Women's Wrestling is not "real." That's...kinda sexist!
