Watching Tom Ryan talk about Sammy was interesting. Will he become an assistant/grad assistant at Ohio State? Ryan mentioned it but didn't say much. Will he move on to another program? Apparently College coaching is a goal. Will it happen?

Many kids will want to go to the program & coach that will get them to the top. Penn State appears to be that program for now. Just as Iowa under Gary Kurdelmeier/Dan Gable. NIL all you want. No one team gets every top recruit. No coach wants every top recruit. Sounds nice but in practice some kids just don't fit a coach/program.

Was a backhand comment on the Robles movie. No need for the fiction needed. What he did was more than impressive. Just like HOOSIERS - the assistant coach took over & the kids won it all. No Norman Dale. No drunk father assistant coach. Reality is all that is needed. Sasso included.

Yep, Tommy boy has a secret plan to get Ferrari on top at the Big 10 & NCAA tournament this year. Hard at work in the room teaching him new moves to get off bottom. Start with a Granby Roll & half way through do a Thomas Flair(gymnastics move) to use the legs & knock the oppenent off of him. Then a Double back flip with a half twist so he lands on his feet already facing his opponent - who is now dizzy from trying to watch the two filps - more powerful than a Flying Squirrel move. Ferrari is quick study & will be ready for the tournament. In addition, he will be wrestling 197 as well so he can beat his brother - and you guys thought Iowa had no chance.

Listening to the commentators it was said they thought he was recovering from a light touch of Flu. Who knows what reality is?

Bo and the Ford Focus? The buzz is that both are locks for the top spot next year - and the three following. A lot of excitement as the Squawkeyes now have two potential 4 timers - with potential being actual rather than just crazy thinking. A few fans even think both will be 4 timers and undefeated - as TheTerribleTwins push to out do Cael. Will it happen?

The older fans grew up seeing Dan Gable push & push & push. 1981 he even pushed the ref to call Stalling in Tim Riley, one of his wrestlers. The ref saw Gable making Stalling motions & yelling "he's stalling" and started calling it - until Riley was done & was disqualified for all the stalling calls. Yep, Iowa fans are highly attuned to STALLING - but still give their own wrestlers much more leeway that Gable would.

Iowa and Oklahoma State both have a history of underperforming at the NCAA tournament. OSU has a new coach and a "Whole New Mindset" - but still lost to Iowa. OSU has not done great at The Big Dance for some time. Will any changes show this year? Iowa is looking tough & the Big 10 tournament is coming up. Maybe they do well there - but will it be another case of NCAA glory being "we had a finalist again"? Two programs with good coaches - what happens this year?

You do know what the cloning of Dolly the Sheep means in Iowa, right? Now every kid in school can have the Prettiest Girlfriend in town.

I think Ferrari went out there, wanted to keep the match close. It's hard to score on a guy who just wants to keep it close--NOT saying he shouldn't have gone after him more, but are we going off his past a bit more than his actual results this year? ---------------------------------- Damian Hahn vs Cael Sanderson.

After watching both I think it is either very close - or a total blowout. Carter is looking good. Keck is looking like a world beater. If anyone can beat Starocci, it is him. Active and rugged and can go the whole 7 minutes. How do you see it?

Heard from a guy who knows someone who heard somewhere that he is not going to wrestle because he is afraid he might get matched up with Crooham.

You don't get better facing cupcakes & dodging the tough matches. You don't get better with no challenge in the room for training. He might do well but from what we have seen it is not apparent he is a real threat to win it all this year. Next year his younger brother may have grown into 197. Maybe they can meet on the mat because I doubt Iowa will bring him in.

You don't think we should expect Professioalism and good performance in presentation, analysis and such during the matches?

Problem I see is Student announcers without supervision from an experienced sports announcer. They are there to learn. Dumping them into a position without solid preparation and an experienced companion doesn't help them and subjects us to crap play by play.

Sorry, none I wrote were pinned in college competition. All were "Greatest of All Time" in their era. Dan Gable maybe questionable as he lost the final match his Senior year but went to greatest heights on the International circuit.
