Almost reminiscent of Woods vs. Swiderski last year? I'm not sure how familiar you are with Echemendia? Not only is he probably my least favorite wrestler currently in a lineup at a D1 school, but also is excellent on his feet and possesses world class talent. Not easy to get a ton of takedowns over. He beat Swideski in the 149 wrestle-off and is now down a weight. He has done "nothing" his entire NCAA career because he only wrestled one year and was lost for the season after a brutal Eierman cradle. Then he had some legal, disciplinary, and transfer related issues. He is no joke.

A big part of Iowa States takedown advantage was David Carr and Yonger Batista who wrestled the two more overmatched opponents of the night. Iowa didn't really face any individuals that they were capable of running up the score on. Kennedy tried and ended up fading.

It also apparently depends on the color of the singlet.

I thought some of the stall calls were a bit suspect.

I am loving how still photos are being used as "evidence" by posters that points were or were not scored. Also loving how people seem to want the "no reaction time takedown" from rear standing to magically reappear after most everyone hated it a year ago.

But he probably beats Glazier on paper, and they didn't even try.

Not to mention that Dresser maybe could have pulled some bumping shenanigans of his own, with a number of supposedly solid guys between 165-184.

I don't think we will see Swafford again this season, unfortunately.

He was supposed to be there last year (according to Askren), but days later was not entered. Not to say that he was ducking anyone, he's great, but he didn't wrestle there last year.

Dresser is a great high school coach.

Mcgonagle from Lehigh is from Maine. The New England states have a six state high school championship that kids gear up for to wrap up their season, so it is CT, RI, ME, MA, NH, and VT in one large sanctioned event. You’ll see kids from these states pop up, generally at smaller schools: Casella at Binghamton for instance is another one.
