  1. Thank you, sir. Your make good points.
  2. Agreed. It was a good post until the "bellyaching" part. Probably should have left that out. I wasn't looking for toxicity, but admittedly have been focusing a lot of my energies into the study of WWII recently. Perhaps that made me a bit more sensitive? Have a great weekend.
  3. He literally said "stop bellyaching about greyshirts and covid years," because this guy took years off to fight WW2. Sorry, I don't let that crap slide.
  4. Not sure what you're talking about? You literally tried to equivocate someone greyshirting to a man fighting fascism and ultranationalism. I'm not saying you are team-Axis, but the Greatest Generation deserves a little respect. The info was interesting; the context- not so much. Also, not coming after you specifically, I would have made that post regardless of the OP. (and your silly little meme isn't helping you; in fact makes your original post a bit more contemptible. )
  5. A little different than "greyshirting" and "redshirting" in order to gain a competitive advantage. This man gave up years of his life to fight against one of the greatest evils the world has ever known. I don't think that should be trivialized in the slightest. Yes, the spread of years is interesting, but fighting Hitler/Tojo should not be made light of.
  6. I think you have to join his OnlyFans to see the other stuff!
  7. That used to be a rule in college wrestling. It didn't survive.
  8. Yes. They are two very different things.
  9. Is it GPA or number of credits?
  10. Maybe, but it wasn't that long ago that they shut Lehigh out and nearly shut them out in individual match points!
  11. But there is always the possibility that he doesn't want them to get a tougher workout. Taylor talked about how he never had a rest day until he went to PSU. (also, I just realized the fact that Nolf and Starocci probably don't wrestle each other very often these days...)
  12. I think this also included trophies from NCAA regionals in various sports. That still doesn't add up to $4 million, but it is a bit more.
  13. I'm sure he's all about helping them be MMA fighters... after they've used up their eligibility.
  14. Interesting... can't see that one going over very well in a Cy-Hawk!
  15. My point is that I don't think the wrestlers are practicing striking and kimuras during PSU practices. They can certainly roll with MMA fighters in practice, and work striking on their own time (maybe), but probably not something Cael encourages on his time or dollar.
  16. When was the last rule change that directly affected tournament scoring from bonus points? 1994?
  17. I'm not aware of PSU actively helping guys become MMA fighters?
  18. Again, a good idea, but I don't see it happening. We already run out of mat space in college matches (athletes end up on the floor) and no administrator is going to approve incentivizing a blast double onto the gym floor. Yes, it exists in freestyle, but no AD is going to be a fan. (some lawyers might be)
  19. The real question is; did the "Jesus Trained" Bull think it was a Christian school when he moved in to town to wrestle for them?
  20. - I think a 3 point reversal would further disincentive top wrestling. We don't need less top wrestling. - I really like the idea of the stepout in freestyle. In theory, I like it in folk. However it doesn't work. Imagine a guy getting an escape next to the edge and then immediately stepping out in the process as he gets to his stance. He gained a point and then immediately gave up a point. There are plenty of similar issues that would occur and ways to game the system.
  21. Lots of towns start with "St." (St. Louis), but I get it.
  22. Are you thinking it is a religious institution, or because of the number of "move ins?"
  23. Very interesting! But I thought he said "8 years old." It was a good listen, Taylor has some interesting experiences. It did remind me of a spat I got into on this board when I insinuated that Taylor had a "crazy wrestling dad." I was told that Mr. Taylor was as normal as they come and he only moved to Graham because there is an airport nearby and he is a pilot... and his daughter rode horses.
