  1. MM was at least 20, possibly 21.
  2. Not really a rival, though? I don't think Iowa was very good. Has to be the man they used to call "Bail Sanderson" going to PSU after his mentor was pushed out of the ISU job. I understand why he did it, and it has worked out.... but he went from the top job at a historically significant program to come to PSU. None of these other guys left head coaching positions that were gifted to them.
  3. Great to see this thread starting up on this board!
  4. ... and how often is he hitting his trapped arm gut at the senior level? The one what he set up with a leg-in? It is still a great technique, but my guess is that everyone has gameplanned it.
  5. Its part of the joke, bro. It works better this way. Guess what? His name also doesn't have a "u" in it. "I'm currently a member of the USA National Wrestling Team and train in State College, PA, with the Nittany Lion Wrestling Club. In addition to competing in international wrestling competitions, I also work part-time as an Associate of Sales at ABR Dynamic Funds." This is from "Linked in" which also mentions that he is a coach at NLWC. Nice try though.
  6. Rutherford is probably sitting at a desk somewhere, making sales with his head still taped from Berger's actions.
  7. Wow. No NC State.
  8. I'm sold on Duke, but hopefully someone reigns in his Tyler Berger/turdburger style extracurriculars when he hits the college scene.
  9. They pretty much started those trends. Often forgotten.
  10. There was a lot of speculation at the time that this was a "work" to get Rome publicity. I didn't know who Rome was before this, but I certainly did after. Were any charges pressed?
  11. You don't have to be hydrated. Your urine has to have a specific gravity of 1.025 or less at the time of testing. All this actually tells them is that you were probably hydrated at some point, if it is indeed your urine.
  12. Well, we were about 80 miles from Weehawken at the time. Wouldn't have been wise.
  13. In the heydey of Blair (Mocco, Perry, Espo, Coop, etc), I was coaching at National Preps. There were a ton of big name coaches for the Prep tourney and PA District 11 was the same weekend down the road. One of my proudest moments was my heavyweight lifting another big guy in a double and none other John W. Smith stopping in his tracks to watch the action. My guy scored his 2 and probably a pin. John W. paused for a second, surveyed the situation, and then just kept walking. But still a proud moment for me...
  14. I think we are talking about two different kids.
  15. Yes. And the week before, he threw his semifinal opponent who was 2 feet out of bounds and 1+ seconds after the whistle. It would have been 5 in bounds and before the whistle, though. I get Duke's frustration in that bout, but the Russian coaches were less than pleased.
  16. He's either mentally ill, or doing a great job portraying someone who is mentally ill.
  17. JB was 100% in the right, and I enjoy watching MM work.
  18. Somehow I doubt it. Instigators often take pride in their work. It even seems to be a job in the NHL.
  19. He's long had this reputation and Askren has also talked about the kid being an instigator. And lets also keep an eye on his future teammate, PJ Duke. Duke is a stu and strong like bull, but I've seen at least a couple instances of wrestling/cheapshotting after whistles and out of bounds. Hopefully these are isolated instances. Kid is very very good.
  20. Perhaps. Also, interpretations change.
  21. no thumbs down emoji
  22. Will he be able to vote in this election? He has to be 18 this calendar year, correct?
  23. Beautiful! Forfeits at 133 and 184, but this team wins some duals.
