  1. Nothing discriminatory about this statement whatsoever. Judging a person by their appearance. Ableist, classist, etc. What happened to the compassionate left?
  2. Yes, when I was coaching football I had angry coaches approach me after the game bc our SS was trying to punch the ball out of their HBs in as we were losing late in the game. The coaches though he was throwing body blows.
  3. No, look at my quote... y'know the one you responded to. I said 1953. So, that was constitutional law at the time. You would have enforced it, correct?
  4. So in 1953, you would have upheld Plessy v. Ferguson's interpretation of the 14th amendment?
  5. I think it is also important to note that Bo has been involved in MMA a lot longer than 3 years. He began pursuing it in 2019. DC was involved in trying to get Bo managed by Zinkin Entertainment, but it looks like Bo signed with First Round Management instead. That was November 2019. Bo was sidetracked by Covid (and so was everyone else) but I'm sure he was still training MMA, even going into 2021 Olympic trials. So, basically he has been a pro MMA fighter for about 5.5 years. That should be enough time to figure things out.
  6. Bo started out in Masvidals iKon Fighting Championship,
  7. And its not true either. Bo started out in the IFC.
  8. Wouldn't be my choice of words, but I bet Bo has used it at least once!
  9. I'm guessing they don't want some "bowling" style celebration, so they are covering all bases? Flagrant misconduct would generally be a punch, a brutal headbutt, a bite, etc. Not a thrown headgear. I would imagine a situation came up last year where a ref thought a kid did something flagrant and it was a mistake. I'll give an example: When a shrug first started becoming big in the 90s, I taught my team the technique. My state champ 171 attempted one in a match. The ref had not been evolving with the sport and thought my guy had thrown a forearm shiver. He was penalized, thankfully not a flagrant. It only takes one or two situations like this for a rule to be put into place.
  10. As a ref, I'm already seeing the ways this can be gamed. I'd love to let Bouzakis up to avoid the reversal and not even have to give up an escape point.
  11. Don't tell Bo that! He thinks he is full of 'rizz. Honestly, I was not a fan of his in college. I liked his style but couldn't stand his blue hair or most of his interviews. Guy was good though. I have been rooting for him in MMA, though. Honestly, I have been rooting for him in the way that Mineo thinks we should all be rooting for him. He's a wrestler; I support wrestlers. At the same time, I am fine with Iowa (or other) fans who wanted him to be humbled. It is their right, and the guy has been cringe. But what I saw against Paul Craig, and even worse against RDR, has left me very disappointed in him.
  12. Bo may be a better athlete than those two, but he isn't half the fighter. I hope he becomes that guy, but spamming overhand rights like he's playing a video game is not the way to do it. He has to become far more skillful, and not be so bothered by the slightest strike or the first time something doesn't go according to plan. He wilted. The wilt was both cardio and in terms of his willingness to deal with damage. Maybe it was a liver kick that put him down, but the fight was trending in the wrong way way before that.
  13. Are you comparing him vs those guys with the same experience of NOW? Gaethje's leg kicks are better than anything in Bo's arsenal. Power is part of being talented. So is the ability to take shots and not quit and continue to fight. Both Chandler and Gaethje have warred with and defeated excellent fighters with their striking. Nickal... not so much.
  14. In no way is he a more talented striker than Gaethje or Chandler nor is he able to take a shot. He began his MMA journey in 2019 and has very little growth to show for it. Other than my opinion of his striking relative to the other two wrestlers, I'm just parrotting things that guys like Cormier and Sonnen have said.
  15. AKA definitely works for guys with wrestling base. Cormier and Cain, amongst others, became competent strikers who could still effectively wrestle. I'm not sure what Bo is trying to do? Does he think he's going to become a brawler like Gaethje or Chandler?
  16. Apparently he chooses not to take a punch. Prob doesn't get punched during training. Maybe he should go back to blue hair?
  17. It was all about football and basketball money.
  18. The NCAA lost a ton of money in 2020 from not having March Madness basketball. The NCAA couldn't afford to lose out on football revenue and basketball revenue in the 2020-2021 school year, but they realized there would be reluctance on the part of athletes to waste a year of eligibility if the season did not happen or was cancelled midway through. They countered this by assuring athletes that participating in 2020-2021 would not harm their eligibility, ensuring that most athletes would agree to play and that the NCAA would get their normal revenue streams. (Don't forget that in the 2020-2021 school year, it didn't seem to be guaranteed that a full season could go off without a hitch)
