Penn State will be amazing. I like how Nagao talks about how he has become a better man for going through with this process and how it was all about God. "God" is how he justifies breaking his commitment to Minnesota. Breaking his commitment and searching for the best offer made him a better man. I am fairly religious, but I would prefer him to be honest with us, and probably himself. "I had a good year. I am a hot commodity. Minnesota is really cold. I'm not sure about his chances, but will agree that he is a different type of human. I was privileged to be able to watch him train at a workout as the 2000 trials were imminent. He was drilling technique HARD. He had two separate training partners who were rotating in on him, a new guy in his face immediately after he took down the first. This went on and on and on. It seemed like 30-45 minutes, but I wasn't keeping track and it was decades ago. His gas tank and work ethic were incredible. The pace was astounding, especially for such a large human being.

Nolf looked amazing at nationals his senior year after hurting his knee earlier in the season in a dual. The Brands/Brooks match that I am referring to was not freestyle, but was at Big 10, I think. Brooks was clearly hurt but made up a big deficit to win the match. Very impressive. The Downey loss was in freestyle the same year, I believe.
