It is significant to note that King Abdullah of Jordan (hosts of the Junior Worlds) was a solid high school wrestler while attending prep school in the US. His brother Ali, was also successful. Numerous articles and pictures are online that mention their association with wrestling in the US.

Switzerland is where the IOC makes it's decisions. FILA HQ was a relatively quick trip to Switzerland, but FILA leadership didn't even bother showing up to the meeting where IOC dropped wrestling.

The bolded area was the particular issue. The kid went 3-2 and did not place, but did beat three kids. Not a big name kid, but capable of winning three matches in juniors. Basically graduated the same month as Levi Haines, and possibly older. One year after graduating high school, the kid was wrestling in Fargo.

As I was looking at Fargo Junior brackets, I noticed an entry in juniors from an East Coast state. The wrestler is the same age as my son, whom is going into his sophomore year at an NCAA D1 institution. This wrestler graduated in 2022, then chose to attend an East Coast prep school for a post-graduate year. Junior eligibility clearly says you have four years to compete in Fargo when you enter your freshman year. The clock does not pause if you decide to go for another year of high school after you graduate. The same wrestler placed in NHSCA, but I am not 100% sure of NHSCA eligibility rules. Clearly USA Wrestling, isn't checking this stuff; I believe that they leave most of it to the state associations. There probably needs to be better oversight here. Really crazy that our sport is coming to this. Shame on the states and on the parents. Wonder how many similar situations there are this week?

20+ years ago in Fargo, a Russian national named Khetag Pliev represented OH. He was able to hit a number of reverse lifts in freestyle against good high schoolers. I would say that he hit one almost every match. Beat Kish in the finals, but no lift. I believe he later went on to represent Canada internationally. More recently he lost a finger in an MMA fight.

This is the 4th time you have questioned me about my name was on the old board. I find that a bit odd. It is pretty much common knowledge, and I don't try to hide it. I've actually had my old name in responses to you. Somehow you are strangely fixated on it. Pretty weird. I did not attend Iowa. They are probably my second favorite current team, mostly because I was a fan of the Lee/Kem/Marnirelli/ etc. teams. I was a Lee fan, and the other guys grew on me.
