Oh come on! You know how Vega is going to perform on hearing and eyesight tests? Does he have any dental conditions? Also, unlike Cornell, the Academies require SAT/ACT. Cornell does not, correct? The point is: even though a kid verbally committed to an Ivy, it doesn't mean they'd easily get into a service academy. Actually, a pretty embarrassing statement to make.

That could be read multiple ways. But nice save. Cornell requiring a Congressional or Vice Presidential nomination now? Candidate Fitness Assessment? DoDMERB exam?

Not even slightly true. Very different requirements. Could he have probably passed those requirements? Yes. However, unlikely he went to that trouble. And was he accepted at Cornell? Cornell takes juniors in December of their junior year? Or was it that he committed to Cornell, similar how Christian Carroll committed to Penn? (or AJ and UNC)

Not technically sound? Wrestled for some of the best high school coaches in the country and then went and was coached by John Smith. NCAA champ and age group world medalist! Not technically sound?

I really don't know, but as an NC State guy, I'm hoping to see him filling Fishback's spot.

Plus the athletes have a say in making the policy, and they like it as is. If they didn't like the policy, they can get rid of it. We need to understand that this isn't a random tournament; it is the selection process. We want to get the best team to Worlds.

I've never had the opportunity to meet Burroughs. I heard Askren say that when you get close enough to talk to JB, you can see tons little tiny chips in his teeth from all these collisions. I'm not sure if JB has had dental work done since then, but I thought it was an interesting anecdote. (He brought it up when a guy relaxed on his knees vs JB in one of his last title runs. Maybe 2022? JB blasted the guy who I think was Russian, but could have been Iranian. It was a tough dude from a tough country and it was a big score in a big match)

I actually don't mind Pyle. He's been around good wrestlers and is fantastic shape. Unfortunately, he was not a great wrestler in high school and didn't wrestle in college. He can get better through osmosis to a certain degree, but even being around Saduleev isn't enough. Minnow on the other hand, whom I despise, was a very good high school wrestler and I'm thinking he wrestled in college. I don't see a situation where Pyle beats Minnow, who looks to be in some semblance of shape.
