  1. Ayala had some difficulty with DeAugustino's leg riding. I would imagine Nagao would also present some problems unless Drake has fixed this issue.
  2. Only his seventh year.
  3. Both the B Team and Danaher (and Ryan and the DDS (or whatever it is now called)) are based out of Austin,TX and have been so for years. Flo is also based out of Austin and has a great presence in the grappling world. Most of the BJJ money is in instructional videos and Austin prob has more high level BJJ practitioners than anywhere in the US... it makes sense for Nolf to move Ocean down there.
  4. And Davis will no longer be the 125 going forward. Was Teske in there somewhere? Teasdale?
  5. Gabe kept wrestling, I believe. Close loss to DT in an NLWC COVID dual and then an attempt at making the 2021 team.
  6. Yeah! How many have been the starting 125 for multiple years?
  7. Interesting. Prep schools tend to be more diverse than most public schools and their populations tend to me more in line with the racial/ethnic makeup of the USA as a whole.
  8. Who is pushing Kennedy out?
  9. Maybe, but Deam was champ his first year and really dropped off his second.
  10. THanks. However, Cass would absolutely lose to Gable, but tore his knee up in a late flurry vs Kerk. Had a subpar NCAA tourney by his standards.
  11. A joking reference about how PSU guys are never injured or sick, because they don't beat their guys up, combined with this Cael quote about core temp https://www.pennlive.com/penn-state-wrestling/2024/02/several-ailing-penn-state-wrestlers-on-the-mend-according-to-cael-sanderson.html?outputType=amp
  12. I didn't watch the video, butI did hear he was moving to Austin? He's prob been doing BJJ exclusively since OTT, and Austin is about the best place on earth to do that.
  13. When Askren came up with his list of best scramblers in the last 10+ years, Nolf was #1.
  14. Can't be illness or burnout at PSU. They have fun and they don't grind their guys down. They never get hurt, and only get sick during the dual meet portion of the year. They have a sophisticated body temp monitoring system to control illness.
  15. Ask Tom Ryan if Kerk is a transfer. Are you saying Nagao continues to get worse under Cael's tutleage?
  16. Or get counts with the original turn, for an additional 1 point. That is why trapped arm became super popular.
  17. What is the Pico route? He didn't wrestle a high school season for the last years of his career and then went MMA?
  18. Interesting how most of those mentioned transfers had declining NCAA performances at PSU. Is that "undeveloping?"
  19. Oh, so no Kerk, MM, Nagao this year? That could make things interesting!
  20. Does PSU have any transfers?
  21. That is crazy... those Iowa guys who forfeited out of that B10 tourney were all legit injured. It was evident two weeks later at NCAA.
  22. Well, Brooks dad tweeted that he will never make 86 again. Too much of a cut. So it looks like 92, and if he ever wants to be in the Olympics (and the weights don’t change) it’ll have to be 97.
  23. Munktar also gave us an anxious moment vs Steveson in the Tokyo Olympics.
  24. There’s a lot of unnecessary writing here. Japan getting to Dakes leg was not the result of some magical new technique. Dake allowed him to get to the leg so he could attempt his chest wrap As far as the chest wrap counter: nothing different than what Sidakov did, which also was not revolutionary as Askren discussed it on FRL before and after 2023 worlds. Nothing to really see here, except perhaps that Dake seems to be like that kid you try to coach up and he says “thanks coach… but I think I’m going to continue to do things my way.” And I suppose he’s warned that right
