  1. I also think it is a bad idea. The problem is that one of them wouldn't simply sit for one year. It would be two years. They are both Junior eligible this year. Edit: Nope. Trephan is a senior, unless he can get a medical for a prior year - my bad.
  2. Steveson was also one of, if not the, heaviest favorites in the cancelled year. In any sane eye, for arguments sake, he should be considered 2, 1, 1, 1. Not giving those respects is purely ignorance, hate, or a toxic and convenient combination of both.
  3. Here is a list that is handy to look at, FWIW... https://www.jerseywrestling.com/news.php?story=Top 115 Heavyweights in NCAA History
  4. @Lleynor, what heavyweight career do you think is better than Stevesons?
  5. He is like 6'9" tall, too. It's ridiculous.
  6. You questioning a soft looking, 245lb true frosh is legitimate. You questioning the 260lb version that beat Parris in the '21 finals, let alone the 265lb version that beat Schultzy in '22 is just plain silly. There isn't a better or more athletic heavyweight than either of those versions of Steveson, ever. If you are talking best career, that is different - perhaps. Maybe not, though. If you are talking the best heavyweight ever, the answer for 1 and 2 are the same guy.
  7. If you put that side-by-side with the Bartlett - Mendez final this year, it looks nearly identical. Different rules, yet identical. Add in that Alirez controlled Bartlett at OTT, even if the score was relatively close. It shows that Mendez is real close to being 'that guy' right now. I know styles make matches, but it is rather known that Bartlett is better at MFS than Folkstyle. Mendez controlled center. That match would look similar in Folkstyle. Also, the match was at 150lbs. It might not need to say anything for Folkstyle. They may very well be different weights this next Collegiate season.
  8. I don't want him below 97 KG. He is our #2 at 97 KG.
  9. HFS this panel is going to be fire.
  10. Alirez - Mendez is next. Free to watch. JB on the horn.
  11. Wrestlestat has since moved Trumble back to 197lbs for NC State with Trephan back at 285lbs... not sure why. I would prefer Trumble at 285lbs.
  12. Recent results (Carroll at 92 KG this last weekend against comparable competition) suggest that it would be competitive. There are reasons to think it would not be competitive, though, based on results. Carroll over Cassioppi 6-6 on criteria. Carroll over Shumate 16-6 in 4M21S. Shumate over Glazer 11-0 in 1M55S.
  13. Me as well, but that would be awesome to see.
  14. Cassioppi to 197?
  15. We still know it's not actually TBar making this post. We know it's you HL3... You ruined it for us.
  16. He was 92 KG the next day for MFS after wrestling 97 KG in MGR.
  17. Starocci didn't wrestle 74 KG. Also, Davis was only up in weight for their team, same as Swiderski the year before. Dundee is a small school team and needs their hammers to be flexible.
  18. The portal hasn't been dead. We've legitimately seen a national champion, age group team members, and perennial contenders and a slew of other gents transfer this year. If the requirement is that we get 3+ Natty Daddies every year, then every year will be dead.
  19. No, I get that. There has been a slew of discussion on this on other BBS. Many folks better in the know than us, and especially ConBon, have pointed towards other reasons and not growth. He was ~141lbs what... five months ago? He didn't suddenly gain 15lbs of muscle.
  20. I would take that Pinto victory with a grain of salt. I believe he had a botched cut to 79 KG. If he had lingering effects from that, he wasn't going to do well against the 86 KG contenders. At least, not as well as he should have.
  21. You probably won't get a response. WestCoastDanTheMan has anyone who is anyone blocked.
  22. There is more behind the scenes that you are ignoring. It was a botched cut for reasons that you can look for elsewhere, not him being too big.
  23. Kasak isn't too big for 149 after having started the season at 141lbs. He just knows that SVN is 'that guy' at 149lbs. Duke is still in high school. He will still be in high school next year, too. Cochran might be alive for the 184lb spot. He was at 86 KG this last weekend and made the finals before defaulting out. I think 125/133 is Davis/Lilledahl in some order and I don't really care which order at this point. Unfortunately, for Nagao, he peaked for two tournaments and he hasn't been able to peak as high since.
  24. For going 157 on short notice last year, Paddy looked pretty badass.
  25. O'Toole is already confirmed at 174lbs man.
