I also heard ThugMassa G is stepping up for Allred at 184, since Allred has gone in to hiding as is Micic at 125 in an attempt to block Lightning Luke from attaining that Top 5 ranking.

With all of this talk about to gap from 197-285

A ) AI agrees? You should have stuck with using your own opinion. Your opinion holds much more value to me in a discussion type manner than any manner of AI might. Also, it isn't AI - it's a computer program that scrapes the internet for the most statistically logical answer. It isn't an actual opinion of some AI think computer. I would think that you wouldn't need the opinion of some fake machine for validation. B ) I came up in an era when people I knew and actually trained with destroyed their lives over cutting weight, up to and including death. I wrestled 134lbs when I weighed about 140-145lbs typically. I was not the norm. Our 126lber weighed as much, if not more than me, quite often. That is why I don't want anybody cutting too much weight. I am a big advocator to not cut weight. If you over the next weight class up (145lbs going 133lbs, for example), you should not be going 133lbs. The long term effects could be lethal. C ) I am okay with my opinion on needing new weight classes being different than yours or anyone else's opinion. I still would prefer we align with the international weights. I think we would see more wrestlers give the senior level a go - at all weights. I also think that we might find more 'gems' that are just better at MFS than they are collegiate folkstyle. D ) Why are you still using boxing? We are more like Judo, Jits, or MMA than Boxing in most every regard. Hand speed matters a lot more in boxing than any other sport. There is a reason that chonkers (sans Fury who is ~6'9" with the reach to go with) don't often thrive at heavyweight. Slow hands. -

My opinion is well known. I want our weights to line up with UWW's weights. I didn't include boxing because they have 42 weight classes and it is less like wrestling than MMA (UFC) is. Broadening the discussion doesn't and does help both sides depending on who you use from recent memory. Jon Jones or Ryan Bader. One proves it doesn't matter, although he did bulk in to the weight class. The other proved it didn't matter until he ran in to a guy who was clearly too large for him. Edit: Weigh-in rules are quite different, too - two hours versus ~36+ hours... -

285 - 197 = 88 265 - 205 = 60 88 =/= 60 -
Not sure when he got hurt, but his next sighting after the Kasak match had him in crutches.

Was that before or after Ferrari absolutely destroyed him at WNO - under college rules?
-
Unless the younger one is deferring enrollment this year?

David Evans would be the 157lb #2, with Facundo being hurt. He weighed in at 156.8 at the National Duals:

This is a good bet, I think. Cenzo just came from there and everyone is on the out, it seems.

Track has them for B1Gs and Tournaflex for National Duals. At B1Gs last year there was only one at the 285 limit in Polar Bear. Year before only one as well, forget who. -

I am okay with this. -
I see nothing wrong with this.

It is honestly entirely up to you. You could break off and dip, toasted or untoasted. My preference is to toast it then spread if, as if on toast. Also, yes. The proper way to eat it is to eat the sealed edges first. Unlike a bread sandwich, which if you eat only the crust first you are certifiable and should seek help immediately. In other news, PB (also jelly if you want) goes great on rice cakes.

I agree entirely. Such bitches.

Thank you for the updates. I look forward to seeing the results.

I also wrestled at a B1G school. I also had a 6 pack at 37. I am a skinny bitch, though. Even as an old skinny bitch, I have a six pack. -
Well back to more of one of my main points: Most people don't even try MFS while in college, or after. Or they do it as an extra and go in to it without really practicing MFS. Were the weights to line up, we would see more give it a proper go. How many guys that wrestled college last season give OTT a go? 57 KG - 2/11, Cronin (125), Fix (133) 65 KG - 2/12, Bartlett (141), Mendez (141) 74 KG - 3/13, Haines (157), Shapiro (157), Mesenbrink (165) 86 KG - 3/12, Brooks (197), Thicclay (197), Starocci (174) 97 KG - 0/10 125 KG - 2/10, Kerkvliet (285), Hendrickson (285) Other notables who were on RS or not yet graduated? 57 KG - 3/11, Blaze (132, HS), Lilledahl (126, HS), Forrest (126, HS) 65 KG - 1/12, Alirez (141) 74 KG - 2/13, Facundo (165), Locket (157, HS) 86 KG - 1/13, Mirasola (195, HS) 97 KG - 3/10, Carroll (285), Cassioppi (285), Trumble (197) 125 KG - 0/10 OTT is probably a *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* tournament to use. WTT would be better, since there are less requirements to qualify, but I really feel like we see more folks give it a go no than fove years ago and we would see even more if we lined up the weights.
-
It was either Henson or one of his coaches just after NCAAs said he intended to go 65 KG, but he never showed up and therr wasn't any smoke on him being injured, or 'too' injured. As far as Retherford? I agree on him being a large, physical guy (for his weights). Had he had a weight he was already at (either 65 KG or 70 KG) we would have seen him more. That is an opinion, and obviously I know it can be wrong.
-
65 KG is 143.3lbs. It isn't as black and white as 'we combine two middle weights' as it is being projected. Most 149lbers would go 157lbs over 141lbs, meaning most would go up to 70 KG (+5.3lbs) over going down to 65 KG (-5.7lbs). If most 149lbers could comfortably make 143.3lbs they would be 141lbers already. The larger 157lbers would go up to 74 KG (163.1lbs) rather than down to 70 KG (154.3lbs). You would see some 165lbers go up, but it would be minor compared to 157lberd going up due to 74 KG being the Olympic weight. 174lbers would likely all go 79 KG (174.2lbs) - much like 125lbers to 57 KG (125.7lbs) and 133lbers to 61 KG (134.5lbs)... hell you might see some 141lbers also drop, although I imagine we could count on our hands and toes the total number in D1 that might. 184lbers would likely mostly all go 86 KG (189.6lbs), but some would drop. 197lbers would probably split in thirds - to the aforementioned 86 KG (189.6lbs), 92 KG (202.8lbs) and 97 KG (213.8lbs). Probably over 80% of the 285lbers stay 125 KG (275.6lbs). At the end of the day, were NCAA to match up with USAW/UWW weights, that a very small percentage of D1 wrestlers ever even make it to the semi-finals of a WTT, let alone a Final X (or equivalent). That number goes down pretty drastically if you include D2/D3/NAIA/etc. That means less people will be hunting those Olympic weights than you, or most people assume will be. That said, there will be more people that make an attempt to make a World Team the 75% of the time we have a regular Worlds. It will be more convenient, as they're already at the weight. Retherford notably sat the MFS after his senior season because he needed to shrink his body for 65 KG. Were the weights lined up he would have already been 65 KG or 70 KG and we would have seen him. We also didn't get to see last years 149lb NC give it a go, either. Same reasons. We lose out on many wrestlers peak potential because we cater to a niche style and niche weights that only we wrestle. You don't see the different tiers of the EFLS using 2 goalies in lower divisions or 9 total players on the field per side. There is standardization and common understandings down to the youth levels.

Ypu are jumping all over the mapnhere, man. All over. And yes. You are cherry-picking as you conveniently are ignoring directly adjacent posts while trying to make a point that we are actually on the same side of - you are just using *I poop my pants, don't laugh at me* examples and false information, as I already stated. Since you have no problem burying yourself in your own drabble, I will recuse myself. You are clearly hurt. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I am sure 103 didn't as well. I apologize for my part in that. Try to be tougher this year, perhaps? Not a requirement, just a suggestion.
-
I don't actually disagree with your point that cutting weight is bad if you want to be a better wrestler. I also never said him goimg 197lbs was reasonable. You're being dramatic. That said, I do disagree with you using information that is easily proven false to solidify your claim - or at the very least make it appear to make more sense. In no report has Parris ever been 6'5" tall. That is like saying Shane Carwin was 6'5" tall three fights after he was 6'2" tall, as a 36 year old man. You can also dismiss his ragdolling all you want, it doesn't make it any less relevant for me to point it out, as we were talking about prospective weights as well as physical growth. He was a 220lb True Frosh hwt that DNP and finished as a 255lb NCAA champ. Also, the Haines bit? Why use two seasons ago? That doesn't make sense and seems as if you're still trying to cherry pick and choose whatever you feel like, which yoi are being critical of others doing. Use more relevant, recent information. That will help your case better, or at the very least make you appear less silly and/or hypocritical when you try to point out anybody else also cherry picking 'only' champs. It honestly looks like you need to take a deep breath, read, then re-read most of who is saying what in this thread. You're all over and you're trying to refute different points than others are actually trying to make, using exaggerated misinformation along the way. There is a definable term for that, I believe. Edit: It was a ragdolling, btw... https://www.flowrestling.org/video/6225604-285-lbs-semifinal-anthony-cassioppi-illinois-vs-mason-parris-indiana

Parris is 6'1" tall and wrestled 220 his last three years of high school. A lot of 215/220lbers go down (Amos/Focus to name a couple very recent). Add in that he was absolutely ragdolled by Cassioppi just after he graduated and bumped up. It wasn't unrealistic to think he might go down after that. Also, the runner up at 157lbs last year is wrestling at 157lbs this year still for Iowa.

Suriano won it at 133 after not winning it at 125.
