  1. Lenny Pinto and Patrick Kennedy entered at 79 KG...
  2. Arizona State will be in it next year. Arizona State Oklahoma Mizzou Iowa State Northern Iowa That is as tough a Top 5 opponents as anyone else will face, regardless of conference.
  3. Sak won't be on campus until 2025-26. Jenkins may beat some wrestlers Walters won't because he is a full 230-235lbs, but Walters at 220-230 while being a 'true' 197lber won't beat some of the huge 285lbers. I might be wrong, but his style lends itself to being able to finish cleanly on his shots, which he won't be able to so much against those B1G bigs once they drop their tonnage on him. Walters was beat up yesteryear. I didn't think it was severe, but he had a boot on when I visited just before the season started (you could see it in a few pictures they had posted about their frosh last year, too). I think he has that potential to be special, as it were.
  4. Walters is going to be the 197lber. I would wager we see him take matches at 285 this year as well for the team. It will be between him and Jenkins for the HWT position this season. Unless Walters shows he is 'that guy' despite being up a weight, I don't see how HWT isn't a 11-14 seed come B1Gs. I had (HAVE) high hopes for Jenkins, but the eye test is telling me that he just hasn't added the appropriate size like Parris and Coon did after their Frosh seasons, respectively. Veazy should be aiming for 184lbs regardless. Walters should own whatever weight of 197/285 he chooses. Correa should target whatever weight Walters isn't going post-Cardenas. If he is to go HWT, then he needs to start ascending now. If it is 197lbs he needs to start descending now and planning for that.
  5. 57 KG - Spencer Lee, USA 65 KG - Zain Retherford, USA 74 KG - Kyle Dake, USA 86 KG - Aaron Brooks, USA 97 KG - Kyle Snyder, USA 125 KG - Mason Parris, USA
  6. To be clear, Russia and Belarus will not be in. The countries themselves are not allowed. The athletes can apply to be allowed as a "Athlètes Individuels Neutres" or AIN. There are stipulations to being allowed as well insofar as supporting the war effort(s). As of right now, Sadulaev is the 'only' #1 that isn't approved to go. Sidakov and Uguev are both already approved. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Individual_Neutral_Athletes_at_the_2024_Summer_Olympics
  7. You can't 'just' add D2 schools. That isn't how it works. You also are pulling folks from the SOCON and throwing them in to the ACC as if the ACC would even consider or want them (they don't).
  8. Where is Mesenbrink in this? In any case, of those four for PSU I think only one ends up being on the back side. For OSU there would be three, potentially four on the backside. That means OSU will win it based on having more guys.
  9. Josh Barr is R12-ish right now - if I had to project. I am very high on him, though, and hope he pulls a high AA out of this year's campaign.
  10. Bernie is gonzo.
  11. I said at the other end, which would be what you said by definition.
  12. Randy Johnson Hall of Fame MLB Career Hall of Fame Bird Butcher Career Hall of Fame PBA Career Hall of Fame NFL Photographer Career Who else is touching him?
  13. I am excited for Gunderson as well. He didn't look small, but there were folks saying that him and Runyon would be wrestling off for 174lbs next year, I believe?
  14. By definition U23 is supposed to be for University Aged folks around the world. Covid, deferred enrollment (Greyshirt), Redshirts, Olympic redshirts, as well as holding kids back a grade (or two) in middle school have made it so our system is failing us with that regard. Take Bo Bassett for example. He will turn 18 by the end of this calendar year. That means he is an old 17 year old HS Soph. He will turn 18 before halfway through his Junior year in HS. He will turn 19 before halfway through his Senior year. The same can be said for Jax Forrest. At the other end - Spencer Moore was 17 years old as a True Frosh at North Carolina. Speaking of North Carolina, the state itself used to have a rule against people who are sort of aging out even being able to compete their senior seasons. If you were 19 before the school year had started, you couldn't compete (something along those lines) in sports that year. There are other states that also follow that sort of scheme. Andonian was simply a kid that went through school at the proper age(s) without being held back.

  22. Oregon State's Munoz entered at 92 KG for U23s? A sign for 197lbs next season?
