  1. OP legit makes it look like he wants to pay someone to take someone out at the knees with that thread title. It should be something more along the lines of "Can I pay someone incentives for achieving specific results?"
  2. Iowa State at 197lbs - Evan Bockman, 3x NQ VS Christian Carroll, Mercenary
  3. They both just tied for 7th at U23s. Jacob looked better on the weekend. Better wins and didn't look as bad in his losses.
  4. I think Wrestlestat nails what their lineup is going to look like, as of now. 125 - K. Terukina 133 - E. Frost 141 - J. Frost 149 - A. Echemendia 157 - P. Johnson 165 - C. Euton 174 - M. Gaitan 184 - T. Naaktgeboren 197 - E. Bockman 285 - Y. Bastida As far as 141 goes, I think you see Z. Redding push J. Frost for the spot, even spot starting through the season, but we should see similar success from Jacob as we did his twin down at 133lbs last season. I expect Jacob to separate himself and establish himself as a low AA contender as the season progresses. Speaking of Z. Redding, he could also give A. Echemendia a run for his money at 149lbs. I anticipate C. Swiderski will also challenge for the spot at 149lbs. My money is on him, but Echemendia did win the spot last year before descending down to 141lbs. Whether or not Swiderski does win the spot at 149lbs and opts to avoid using his Redshirt until if he gets hurt (which is a wonderful option) late down the line, I do anticipate Swiderski to throw his hat in wherever he can. The same should be said for Echemendia. What I mean by that is that IF Swiderski wants to wrestle and does not 'earn' the 149lb spot, I think it an option or within the realm of possibility that if Euton struggles (which I think he will) that we see Swiderski attempt to give 165lbs a go. At 157lbs, I see a similar scenario between P. Johnson and C. Chittum. That is, if Chittum does not wish to Redshirt. The same could also be said for the loser there giving 165lbs a go. We could legitimately see the loser of A. Echemendia - C. Swiderski at 149lbs and P. Johnson - C. Chittum at 157lbs wrestle-off for the 165lb spot. I had high hopes that we would see M. Rojas enter the conversation at 165lbs but with the results we saw from him last year, I don't think he does, unfortunately. That said, if he is serious about being a D1 wrestler, he will try to throw his hat in the ring at 165lbs as well. That last dynamic is interesting to me in that Rojas and Swiderski wrestled for Michigan powerhouse schools (Detroit Catholic - Amines, Gilchers and Dundee - Davis, Buell) and their senior seasons wrestled as low as 138lbs (Swiderski) and as high as 215lbs (Rojas) before settling at 152lbs and 189lbs, respectively. Of note, both did wrestle up for team purposes nearly their entire careers.
  5. 57 KG - If Lee's knee holds up, that means it was healthy leading up. That means no cardio issues. If Lee's knee is healthy, I fully expect a Gold out of him. 65 KG - Zain is his own worst enemy. He is an animal and basically a Metcalf 2.0. Wrestling is harder now as there are more Russians in the field. He could win it, but I actually expect that if he does lose prior to the semi-finals that he will not medal. I expect the guy who beats him to lose the following round (if Zain loses prior to the semi-finals). 74 KG - Dake's issue is that more people know how to avoid the dangerous positions with him. Dake is contented to a 1-0, 2-0 win. He tends to go hard for a takedown early, though, and if he doesn't get it he will try harder. That is why he got Teched by Kadzi a few years ago. I don't know if there is a guy that will put him down early in the bracket, though. I think it is Silver or Gold for him. 86 KG - He was gifted his match against Valencia. The same Valencia who isn't a Top 5 at 86 KG. That makes me believe that Brooks is not, either. His physical style might do what I am worried that Zain might do in that he'll gas his opponent in a loss, then his opponent will take a loss. 97 KG - His draw is ridiculous. We know he tends to do best at Worlds/Olympics, though. I expect him to make the semi-finals. If Sad is slowing down (I don't think Snyder is) then he has a chance there. I don't expect a loss to Taz again from either Sad or Snyder. I also don't see Snyder losing to Azirpara again. Gold/Bronze. 125 KG - I think it is Gold or Silver for Parris. I know Geno also turns it up, but father time is undefeated and Parris looked to be clearly the best 125 KG at the same tournament that Geno was at last week. My biggest worries are the gents from Penn State. I hope I am wrong. I see 74, 97, and 125 KG as guaranteed medals. If Lee is healthy, that is 4. 65 and 86 are big perplexing worries for me and I absolutely hope I am wrong.
  6. McCrone already used his Redshirt, didn't he?
  7. 15 out of 16 times I would pick Cornell... But that one time...?
  8. Would Joey Davis be considered as more accomplished as a wrestler? He is active and I believe just signed with the DWCS. https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/67594-joe-davis Logan Storley never won a title, but was a 4x AA as well. https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/109294-logan-storley-storm Johnny Eblen is as peak as you can get with not being in the UFC, but he wasn't near the caliber wrestler of either of the above. I believe R16 was his best performance at NCAAs. https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/140953-johnny-eblen-john
  9. Looks a lot like this one, yeah?
  10. This is a solid take on that. Yazdani is the best in the world at all three for anyone who can weigh in 86 KG and lower and it isn't even close.
  11. He's such a little guy... https://www.tapology.com/fightcenter/fighters/291453-kyle-todrank
  12. I don't like him without his cornrows. J/s...
  13. I am not surprised to see all the US gents 'favored' on this US bbs. Not at all.
  14. Bearclaw to Urah Valley
  15. His mom was rattling some since deleted shit on social media. We'll see. He was barely mediocre last year and if DT wants him there he will stay.
  16. We weren't talking about it for one of every five matches, which would have put the numbers even. I do agree that 2.4 to 2.2 doesn't equate to a drop (less TD per tech could also help equate to it).
  17. Bartlett can go 285 then after Redshirt.
  18. Folks conveniently forgetting how Brooks was gifted his match against Valencia, I see.
  19. Again, inaccurate. You're the one underestimating him. There are many, many other wrestlers that people underestimated more. So much more. And he was not competitive. Yazdani was never in any sort of trouble in any way, shape, or form. The match wasn't competitive. Dream on, if you like - you're still wrong... and it isn't even a matter of opinion. You're just wrong.
  20. I do believe Keuter is considered a better prospect by most than Parris was, and look what Parris did the first time he focused on ONLY wrestling. That has to have folks at Iowa excited.
  21. He got absolutely worked because he couldn't get to an underhook. Aside for the first 30 seconds, Yazdani owned every bit of that match. Hidlay is strong as an Ox and as powerful as a tornado... he had nothing for Yazdani. And it's wild that Hidlay actually didn't look that bad, considering.
