I feel like you should have to forfeit any scholarship money from the prior year if you transfer immediately after a redshirt (Mesenbrink for example). IIRC Alirez may not have even been enrolled so probably not applicable in his case but just made me think of it. I do think we will see smaller schools redshirt guys less to make sure they get the years out of them while they can.

The sequence in Bassett/Valencia is a good example of why people don’t like exposure for points. Bassett was in deep on a shot which he ultimately finished, but Valencia also gets 2 because he yolo’d and managed to get Bassett’s back to about 91 degrees for a millisecond

Except for Pentz who didn’t even wrestle, have they had any starters transfer to any school other than Oklahoma or Iowa? Seems like the reason for the departures was Kish leaving. If their younger guys start transferring too then maybe I’d be worried. They started 6 freshmen and 1 sophomore last season, seems like they have a lot of potential to improve.

I honestly wouldn’t hate it if they did it Shane Sparks quadbox style with 1 mat each for the finals. But I also think the men’s tournament should be spread over 2 weekends. And for the people that won’t watch the women, it might even make it easier to follow the mens if they are on less mats. 8 is a little overwhelming TBH.

Not sure if it's been discovered elsewhere but I have a guess who it is, but not going to say it yet in case I'm wrong. If I'm correct, this may sound contradictory but while he is basically a nobody, he's not exactly just some random fan. The guy I'm thinking of has been in some youtube videos from a "wrestling media" outlet which I think actually does a really good job, but the videos with him in it appear to have been scrubbed from the interwebs, and his X/twitter account (literally with NLWC in the handle) must have been deleted within the past 3 months (probably the past 2 weeks if I had to guess).
