  1. Minto has been stalling like crazy
  2. Minto now out of redshirt right? Minto leads 3-2 with 48 seconds left
  3. Saldate was leading 5-4 in the third, Taylor gets in on a clean shot, Saldate tries to funk him and gets pinfalled
  4. Maybe Askren could get in contact with him…
  5. I like it, and agree it’s probably their best shot
  6. Would Logan Paul have any interest in making a donation?
  7. Jason Kraisser - did not qualify at first school (since transferred again) Stevan Micic - transferred after redshirting (although his transfer was pre-portal) Kanen Storr - did not qualify at first school
  8. Okay I thought OP may have been asking for how he thought it would shake out this year but wasn’t sure. I like this version too though. To add some more wrestlers: Stevo Poulin and Anthony Noto - transferred after redshirting, both at NC State Matt Ramos - did not qualify at prior school Anthony Echemendia - did not qualify at prior school Quinn Kinner - did not qualify at first school Dan Fongaro - did not qualify at first school Reece Heller - did not qualify at first school (although his brother Holden did) Cleveland Benton - did not qualify at first school (and has since transferred again) Seth Nevills - did not qualify at first school How are you counting multiple time transfers? Does the first school get “points out” for all years after and the second school gets points out for only the years after they leave that school? Tying in both that and your question, is Brody Teske being counted as points out for Penn State since he did not qualify there? Wyatt Henson would be another that redshirted at one school then transferred to 2 more
  9. What exactly are we trying to find out here? As you alluded to the list won’t be relevant to this season because it wouldn’t include anyone that is in their first season at a new school
  10. Is there anyone still in college in D1 wrestling that would have entered college before the transfer portal existed? I guess Iowa could argue they didn’t need the portal to get Teemer and Buchanan… (IIRC, Parco did actually go in the portal. Sorry forgot him in my list of point scorers earlier)
  11. I suppose Teemer+Buchanan+Caliendo could have a shot to top OK State if Teemer and Buchanan win and Caliendo gets 2nd
  12. Are we just talking total points from transfers this year? If so, it’s probably OK State (Hendrickson, Hamiti, Amine, Spratley, Jamison, Fish).
  13. Yes it counts. He was enrolled at Ohio State and transferred via the transfer portal
  14. Cardenas and Saldate are their big ones this year. I forgot them on my list. They have actually lost a few as well: McHenry, Amine, Lamer
  15. https://www.flowrestling.org/articles/6588186-breaking-greg-kerkvliet-has-entered-the-transfer-portal
  16. J’Den Cox could play Robles in the musical
  17. The Jonas Brothers? 2 can be the Brands and one McD
  18. Bakersfield also got 9house but he is doing bad this year. PSU - Kerk, Mesenbrink Minnesota - Flynn, Askey, Whiting Lock Haven - Noto, Henson Northern Colorado - Poulin, Serrano, Ulrey South Dakota State - Tagg, Rhodes, Glazier, Siebrecht Lehigh - Beard, Trephan Little Rock - Williams, Delsignore Utah Valley - Barraclaugh Oklahoma - Sax, Belton, Lorenzo, Schwartz Proof that it’s not just the big schools benefitting
  19. Like a prequel or a musical version? I was honestly surprised they didn’t show much about Robles’ early years in wrestling. They basically started when he was a HS national champion. Showing him lose every match or whatever in his first year wrestling might’ve added to the story IMO.
  20. Even in PA having a lot of schools not being able to field a competitive team is not new. According to @Jason Bryant’s list (https://almanac.mattalkonline.com/dropped-college-wrestling-teams/), there have been 5 D1 teams dropped since 2015 (6 if you count Lindenwood but I wouldn’t - Queens, Boise State, EMU, that school in Norfolk, and Fresno State). Well I guess there will be 6 if CSU happens. During the same time 3 new schools have been added (Little Rock, Presbyterian and Morgan State). Not an ideal situation, but not exactly doomsday (yet at least).
  21. I thought DiJulius as McD was fine. I was not a fan of the guy playing Brands but it was such a small part of the movie. I do kinda agree though that some of the things they changed probably didn’t really add much to the movie. If anything some of them detracted from it, like where they ripped off the Rudy movie by having guys give up their scholarships which I assume didn’t actually happen. My wife actually asked a question that might’ve added a cool twist. They should have had McD be the guy in the beginning who gets the scholarship to Iowa after Senior Nationals or whatever that high school tournament was
  22. You don’t have to like it, but I don’t know why any wrestling fan wouldn’t at least watch it to support the fact that it was made. It’s not like there are a lot of wrestling movies being made, and especially not with actors that people have actually heard of. And there were of course a lot of wrestling people involved/in the movie, Johnni DiJulius, Shane Sparks, Angel Rivera among others. Robles himself (and his mom) was heavily involved with the movie. He was in the movie in some of the wrestling scenes, he trained the lead actor, and has been involved with the promotion. If he was okay with the changes then we probably should be too.
  23. Says he definitely won’t commit until after NCAA’s, probably over the summer Also that his favorite wrestler is Spencer Lee
  24. As @BruceyB said, I think the conversation is being conflated between the recently announced event in Oklahoma and a legitimate dual championship. Of course a legitimate championship would need to be the end of the season. But it seems there’s a general consensus that that isn’t likely, so this is the next best thing (and who knows, if it’s successful maybe one day it could lead to an actual championship). So doing this far apart from NCAA’s makes sense so that the focus for wrestlers and teams will still be on NCAA’s
  25. Interesting. If I’m not mistaken, haven’t they also been having both an individual and team tournament for awhile?
