I’m not sure the location really works against them. NYC isn’t for everyone, but could be attractive to some especially those that might want to work there after college. And as far as wrestling recruits it’s a short drive to a lot of strong areas.

That was my first thought as well. You could maybe argue Iowa if he wants to be the first 4x’er. But definitely not Penn State.

Is his amount of money really that unique in the world of college sports boosters, or is he just more willing to spend more of it on wrestling? I mean he’s probably got only a fraction of what Richison does right?

I’m kinda of the opinion that him being one of the few to wrestle last weekend indicates he’s probably redshirting. I definitely don’t have a plan, but I wonder if Starocci stays 174 (and we see the Starocci/KOT match after all). Much of the logjam talk seems to be focused on the middle weights, but they can sort those out with redshirts if they want. If Starocci stays at 174, then they can have Barr at 184 and Cochran at 197, neither of which have redshirts available (unless they pull out a medical like they may be doing with Nagao).

Surprised it hasn’t been discussed in this thread yet, but curious what your opinion is of how the cop treated Calais Campbell? To me that was the most egregious action of the cop, and IMO shows his behavior is likely a pattern (as does the recent report of the number of times he’s been suspended).

$500k doesn’t make sense but with the number of people that have reported that number including trustworthy ones like Willie, I believe it. Thinking back to Alirez, wasn’t it rumored that both Iowa AND OSU offered $500k? I know there have been comments about why it always seems like Iowa’s offers are the only ones that get leaked, but in that case it wasn’t. And as you mention it certainly seems like Starocci has some money to throw around, which I do think is evidence there could be truth to these numbers.

Really excited for this. Comes out in December. Seems like it challenges Foxcatcher for the biggest names in a wrestling movie. Robles is played by Jharell Jerome. He’s been in a lot of stuff, my favorite being Mr. Mercedes. J. Lo plays his mom, Bobby Canavale (who was also in Win/Win) plays his stepdad, Michael Pena his high school coach, and Don Cheadle plays then-ASU coach Shawn Charles.

I know Carter will get hate for this but I think it’s awesome. It also validates that he’s likely getting $1 million+ IMO if he’s willing to put up $300k.
