  1. Also, what would be the advantage of wrestling attached at the Soldier Salute?
  2. FWIW, Minnow claims that Swafford was suspended for gambling at least for tonight, possibly the season…
  3. Next year should still be close no? Of tonight’s winners, ISU loses only Carr, while Iowa loses Woods and Franek. Could come down to Bastida vs Kueter
  4. Yeah I think this is what’s been happening in practice, and yes for that reason I think fewer matches will go into overtime.
  5. I’m not a fan of either team so no I probably wouldn’t have “cared,” but I would have thought it was the wrong call. Chittum was closer to a takedown than Woods IMO, and seems like the refs agreed.
  6. Ha. Very true. Can probably add 125
  7. Actually Brain seems upset about this one, and did point out that they did actually wrestle the last second…
  8. Maybe. And I was surprised he didn’t challenge and probably would have if I was him. Just don’t think it “lost them the dual”
  9. I don’t think Echemendia had the TD. End of Chittum was reviewed. What other situation would’ve made a difference to challenge?
  10. Good point, but maybe Gaitan knew the score? If just listening to coaches why would he attempt a turn?
  11. To be fair Gaitan did come close to turning him. Gaitan getting a turn there probably a similar chance as another TD given the little time left
  12. Well you need control beyond reaction time so no TD, but basically yes
  13. I was surprised he didn't challenge in the moment, but looked like the correct call after rewatching
  14. Which brings up the question, how long is "reaction time" anyway? I think Chittum had "control" as the clock went to zero, but not enough time for reaction time
  15. Not gifted, but just squeaked by opponents they should have been pushing for bonus against
  16. No, IMO after re-watching due to reaction time
  17. Wasn’t Voinovich pretty highly ranked out of HS? Lost to Echemendia in Fargo finals IIRC
  18. He could have, I guess they made the strategic decision to get the “guaranteed” 1, which honestly kinda backfired with the 2 stall calls
  19. Yes, he was the first. Interestingly he was committed to ISU initially before going to tOSU. I was considering Chittum the second but I guess he never enrolled at Iowa.
  20. Hand touch is no longer a rule
  21. It could have been if Woods had gotten on top in regulation…
  22. Just rewatched end of 141. I actually think that was a good non-call. Woods did a great job keeping his hand off the mat
  23. And 2nd for ISU, although technically I guess Chittum doesn’t count
  24. Traded right jabs there a bit
  25. Also a little surprised the officials didn’t do their own review there. Swiderski with the early TD. Up 3-1
