He lived in SD as a kid. I did not lose much in AAU wrestling and was rarely outclassed when I did lose. He made me look like a fool on the mat. He went to apple valley MN for middle/high school and won 5 or 6 state titles. Ended up being a national finalist at Nebraska Kearney I believe.

Do you think Suriano wrestled at 133 because the cut to 125 was too hard or because the cut to 125 was difficult AND he did not want to deal with Spencer? I believe it had to do with Spencer as well as the cut. I think you are picking nits to not say that Suriano (who placed 2,1 as a 125 lber) fits in to the criteria of an effective 125 lber.
When these guys are not on a full scholarship, it might cost them $40k a year in tuition just to come back depending on the school/in state tuition/etc...
Dude, Suriano was a NQ @ 125 (MFF due to injuries), 2nd @ 125, 1st @ 133, 1st @ 125.. He was a stud. Career record of 86-7 and the "worst" loss of his career was to DeSanto.
Do we really think that PSU is able to effectively train 133/141/149 pounders but are unable to effectively train 125 pounders? That doesn't make any sense. Sometimes there are just random events that take place that are out of the control of the coaches and the results do not make sense. Not everything is linear.
Fell into a couple of nice slide-by takedowns from Olejnik. Mulvaney was able to penetrate and get to his legs multiple times but was unable to finish those takedowns. It will be interesting to see how he progresses throughout the year and if he is able to finish those shots as the season goes on.
I did not see Griess over Pitzer coming. I have viewed Griess as a guy that beats the guys he is supposed to and loses to the guys he is supposed to. This might be a breakthrough victory for him. Nice win.
Wow, just watched Crookham vs Vito. Crookham has great takedown defense. Like the other said, not sure I would pick him in a rematch but he’s very legit.
Why is Hawks locked in as the starter? Whiting has had some really nice wins in his career also. I would think it’s something that will be decided throughout the season because they seem to be very even. Both seem to be a slight notch about Harmon.
VV does not generate much offense. Goo defense and really good at riding on top. I believe this is the first match Ferrari has wrestled in over 2 years.
