  1. What is there to disagree on? One weight has a two world/olympic medalists, another world team member and then up and comers like Keckeisen, Starocci, Welsh, McEnally, Sinclair, etc. The other has three or four really solid young guys in Carr, Mesenbrink, O’Toole (assuming he’s back to form post injury) and Lockett. Seems like 86 is deeper with higher end talent right now.
  2. 86 is way deeper. Zahid, Dake, Keck, Chance, etc.
  3. Seriously? They are used but in alright condition.
  4. Anybody here versed in how much collectible wrestling shoes are worth? I have some Asics Dan Gable Limited Edition Shoes that are used size 11. There were only 500 made. Mine are just like the link below except that they are used. Thanks in advance. https://rarewrestlingshoes.com/product/asics/dan-gable-limited-edition-wrestling-shoes/
  5. I know that Hach has been ranked in the top 15 within the last year, not sure why he is not ranked now. Hach is a very big and athletic kid (did a full front splits after winning a state title last year lol). Excited to see him progress at SDSU.
  6. I came here to say this. Lockett is probably the rightful fourth guy in the mix rather than Bo.
  7. I am from SD and am as big of a fan of SD wrestling as anyone. There have been good (even great!) wrestlers that have come through SD but the facts of reality are that is you are not winning an SD state title you are definitely not high on the national scene.
  8. Brian Picklo is likely the best answer for that. Brock Lesnar would also be a good choice as I think his best HS finish was 3rd in SD (not a powerhouse wrestling state).
  9. Will Lewan has a Ryan Morningstar poster in his room.
  10. The more information that comes out, the better Tom Brands and Iowa looks.
  11. There were some rumors on Facebook that are not good... We will see what comes out. The rumors would meet the criteria for big, bad news.
  12. There are some horrific and very serious allegations in that article.
  13. Some are saying Ech is going back down to 141.
  14. It will be interesting to see how 133 - 157 plays out for ISU.
  15. 125- Spencer Lee → So much hype coming in and he basically lived up to the hype. A complete menace on top and very underrated neutral game. 133- Seth Gross → First and only NCAA champ for my Jackrabbits. So slick and tricky with the two on one from neutral and merkle position and a hammer on top with tilts and cradles. 141- Yianni Diakomihalis → He did (and continues to do) things in scrambles that do not seem humanly possible. Also great interview where he talks about needing to have some nuts. So clutch in the NCAA finals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuzUV8mkYlI&ab_channel=BassettBrothersWrestlingChannel 149- Brett Metcalf → Throwback to the classic Iowa style from the Gable era with relentless pressure and pace. Always looking to score and dominate. 157- Isaiah Martinez → IMar's underhook and post series is a thing of beauty. He was also great with upper body and inside trips. Put up a ton of points and was super physical. Probably looked at as an all timer if he just repeats his wins from B1G over Cenzo in the finals. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjRvo4dI60k&ab_channel=MichaelChoi 165- Evan Wick → Can cradle from anywhere and was comically long for the weight class. As a tall lanky wrestler myself, I always enjoyed watching Wick find creative ways to use his length. 174- Robert Kokesh / Logan Storely → SD kids that battled it out. Kokesh improved a ton throughout his career (I really thought he was going to win it his senior year). Storely came into college ready to challenge for a title and was a 4x AA without a redshirt. 184- Quentin Wright → Electric. Wright let it fly every match and was a human highlight reel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ApDfyLeM3y4&ab_channel=BSDFilmRoom 197- Tanner Sloan → Another Jackrabbit that makes the list of me. Sloan was arguably the best top wrestler at 197 during his career. A great example of a guy that was hardly recruited out of high school putting in the work and becoming one of the best wrestlers in country. SDSU was his only D1 offer and his only other offer was D3 to COE college. 285- Wyatt Hendrickson → Always willing to let it fly. It was fun to watch the progression of a wild man from AF beating up on lesser opponents to a full fledged hammer beating up on everyone.
  16. I will throw out the following as contenders for JB if they want new coaches: Nebraska, Iowa, Rutgers, tOSU, ISU, Michigan and then possibly teams like Oklahoma and Minnesota (that have a history of success and have shown somewhat of a willingness to spend money). I don't see Iowa or Michigan as current possibilities but I think JB would take them if they were open. I think that wherever he went you would see money come in from outside sources to support a guy like Burroughs (think Rob Koll and the Milwaukee tools guy).
  17. Zahid at his best could go toe to toe with anyone. Those 174 weight classes were tough with Zahid, Mark Hall, Myles Amine, Bo Jordan, Daniel Lewis, Jordan Kutler, David McFadden, Taylor Lujan, etc.. Before getting suspended in 2020 Zahid was on a tear as well at 184.
  18. 125- Lee 133- Vito 141- Stieber 149- Zain 157- Dake 165- JB 174- Zahid 184- Brooks 197- Cael 285- Gable
  19. You have Ruth and Nickal over Cael, eh?
  20. Earl Hall named interim coach
  21. Cael Swenson 157/165 SDSU For SDSU I also expect Brady Roark 125 to be tough and Logan Swenson 133 to push for a spot. If he beats out Cardinal, he could be a underdog to look for. Tom Crook 141 VT Luke Geogg (injury not redshirt) 197 tOSU Cael Hughes (injury not redshirt) 141 OSU Max Brignola 165 Lehigh (wend undefeated in redshirt last year notably beating Julian Ramirez) Greg Diakomihalis (injury not redshirt) 125 Cornell Whoever wins the 184 spot at UNI between Gunderson and Walrath Gavin Nelson 197 Minnesota Christian Carrol 285 Wyoming
  22. Minnow is reporting (take it for what it is) that UNC blocked AJF's admission and now he is back on the market....
