  1. Wait a second.... I thought the NCAA was a non-profit organization for amateur athletics?
  2. Koll has a very highly touted recruiting class led for Stanford. Wonder who all jumps ship... From Flo: #12 Aden Valencia (133/141) #15 Carter Neves (285) #24 EJ Parco (149) #33 Jack Consiglio (141) #38 Cole Han-Lindemyer (184) #43 Collin Guffey (157) #46 Grigor Cholakyan (149/157)
  3. Are these confirmed?
  4. Do you find that the smoke box adds the smoky flavor that you lose by using a pellet grill? I have a pellet grill and a weber kettle. I use the pellet grill most of the time but if I want true smoky flavor, my weber with charcoal/wood chunks is the go-to.
  5. If Cael is promoting his religion, he is not doing a very good job. Most of the guys that have been interviewed are Christians and Cael is a Mormon.
  6. Yep, I just season my ribs and throw them on the grill. I will mop them with apple cider vinegar a couple of times during the cook and pull them off when the IT reads 202. I personally want my ribs to be tender, smoky and delicious but not quite fall off the bone.
  7. My sophomore year I went from 185 to 152 at 6’2”. It was a miserable time getting down to weight. I had a negative association with running after that season. Spent a lot of time on the treadmill.
  8. Nolf talks about his faith a lot
  9. Yeah boy
  10. I don't believe Sidakov is allowed to compete, correct?
  11. Or it could just be that Cael creates an environment that prioritizes spiritual/mental health and not being overly obsessed with the results. Perhaps he shows the athletes, with his own actions and faith, that wrestling is something they do - not who they are. It probably is very freeing for the athletes to compete and not have their whole identity teetering on whether they win or lose.
  12. And that does not even account for Mesenbrink, who may be their true prize from the portal.
  13. Triply that he is winning against Thompson and/or Thompson is not ready to go yet.
  14. Interesting... if Plott is a full sized 184 he would be on a short list of title contenders with Keck, Truax, Munoz... I do not foresee him breaking into the top 3 at 174 with Starr, Foca & Lewis so this might be the best move for him. Would have to think that Wittlake would go down to 174 if Plott goes up. Wittlake would be in the AA mix at 174.
  15. They tried to destroy evidence?
  16. Plot wrestled 79kg for u23
  17. Correct, it was one calendar year. The NCAA honored the suspension so he was suspended the remainder of his Oly Redshirt year and then could come back in Jan or Feb following his International suspension ending. The difference is that the NCAA did not suspend him for 1 wrestling season but rather 1 calendar year (in accordance with his international suspension). It worked out well for Daton.
  18. It’s definitely an imperfect system. It will be interesting to see how the appeal process goes for these Iowa wrestlers. I have not heard what they bet on yet. I’m guessing that the the Iowa WBB tourney run was part of the bets for Cass, Brands, Assad, Sebreicht.
  19. Yeah, I don’t think that will work though.
  20. At this point in time Brayton Lee is highly unlikely to make a freestyle olympic/world run. Pick the weight class he is best suited for at NCAA's and give it one last go.
  21. You cannot redshirt your way out of a suspension.
  22. Julian Broderson is a 174 pounder going up two weights. I don’t really think we can accurately project what he’s going to look like until we see it. VV - Swiderski should be considered a toss up in my opinion.
  23. I cannot speak for the corporate world, I’m not employed but a large corporation. But I know that there is a huge shortage or workers for skilled labor positions in the trades. The trades typically pay fair. My moms clothing store was offering part time sales consultants $25/hr plus commission and she didn’t even have people applying for the job.
  24. Exactly. Special interest groups, lobbyists and corporate America have most politicians that rise the ranks under their thumbs (dem or republican). Even most people that enter politics with the right intentions end up compromised. The only politicians that I trust are two local legislators that I have known my entire life and that have not rose up the political ladder. They haven’t risen because they have morals, integrity and actually earnestly push to help protect the common man.
  25. Don’t be obtuse. The purchasing price of a dollar has decreased significantly in the last 3 years. Inflation rates have run rampant. Federal shutdowns and the fallout from them (supply chain issues, folks not wanting to work, even more American manufacturing shuffled to other countries, etc) have caused the value of the dollar to plummet.
