  1. My guy Derrick Cardinal keeping his hot streak going. After losing to Minnesota freshman Tyler Wells by TF in the first week of the season he has turned things around avenging the loss to Wells in the dual and just defeating 6 seed Brandon Ferretti 8-2. Go Jacks!
  2. It has not gone well for him. He has been beat down a quite a few times too. I think he is 2-7 on the season. Yikes.
  3. Wow, Sprately reverses Jordan and gets back points to tie the match up with Jordan having RT locked. Sprately inexplicably cuts Jordan with 6 seconds left rather than ride out and go to OT. Jordan wins 9-8 with RT point at the end.
  4. Wittlake gets a ride out plus a stall point in the 3rd period and secures riding time for a 8-7 win over Takara (UVU)
  5. @nhs67 Brayden Thompson getting worked
  6. Yes, 11-5
  7. Ryder Downey (UNI) dec Chumbley (NW) 8-2
  8. Chittum with a body lock to Nini's back
  9. His strength/athleticism is still translating to freestyle success though.
  10. He had a nice win over Biscoglia last year but that is his only signature win this season. He has losses to Santeniello and Rini who were both beat by HS Sophomore Bo Bassett.
  11. He made the U20 Freestyle team this summer.
  12. I Bouzakis just a freestyle specialist? He does not look good in folk.
  13. He was wrestling 182 for the season in Illinois after wrestling 170 a few months before that. I think he wrestled up a weight for Ironman. He looked good sized at 174 in his match earlier in the year but not massive by any means.
  14. Thompson is an early career candidate to be this crop of recruits Jason Tsirtis. Win all of his matches 4-2, 2-1 but rarely lose.
  15. Straw man argument. No one is saying that Allred sucks, just that Hidlay is more accomplished and likely to win a match against him. Allred has shown himself to be game beating Dean multiple times last year. Great double leg.
  16. I thought Caliendo looked small compared to David Carr (who looks big at 165 this year). Caliendo is very muscular but not tall/long limbed. I could see him slotting into 157 next year. As a senior in HS, I wrestled 189 and bumped up to wrestled heavyweight for the team a handful of time throughout the year. I started the season around 200 and by midseason was weighing in around 186 after a hard practice. After +2 pounds for Christmas I had to weigh in over 191 to wrestle heavyweight. All you have to do is drink a gallon of water on the bus ride and you can put on 8 easy pounds of water weight to wrestle up at the next weight class haha!
  17. I was off on the Pinto/Hoffman/Feldkamp order for seeding. This will be a fun weight class to watch. I am interested to see Foca up at his new weight.
  18. Yes, the guy who is 2/4/5 is 3 NCAA attempts. The guy who majored Michael Beard and has a 100% bonus rate on the year. Hilday is a very physical wrestler, hardly a "paper tiger".
  19. Idk. I just watched Hidlay win the Bill Ferrell beating a world silver medalist in the process
  20. PK had his knee scoped and had not been wrestling for some time. His conditioning was bad because he had not been able to compete. He has a good gas tank and he will get it back.
  21. I think he could have success at 157. When PK wrestled Peyton Robb at 74kg they looked very similar in size and PK pinned him. It was freestyle and a different weight class so should obviously be taken with a grain of salt but I think he could be successful at 157.
  22. That sounds about right currently. I expect Ech, Swiderski and Chittum to continue to improve their seed throughout the year. 141 has 6 returning AA's (Woods, Bartlett, McNeil, Mendez, Hardy, Carlson), 5 of which I think are highly likely to place again (my guy Carlson being the toss up). 149 has 4 guys that are really tough and I would be surprised to see them finish off the podium (Lovett, SVN, Henson, Parco), 3 guys with solid track records of success (Lamer, Arrington, D'Emilio) and then it is wide open. 157 has Haines and Robb atop (perhaps Shapiro can find himself in this tier as the season progresses) and then a a lot of parity among the next group of 12 guys. By years end I think Ech ends up around #10 ranking, Swiderski around #6 and Chittum around #9. However, I also think that Evan Frost probably drops down a few spots as the season goes on. Time will tell.
  23. I have Carr as a lock, Bastida as a highly likely and then I just need one of Terukina, Ech, Swiderski, Chittum or Feldcamp.
  24. I’ll take the over on Iowa State 2.6 AA’s
