  1. Vito- Gold Yianni- I love yianni so I will not be predicting I think with zain being ineligible this could be a weak weight for us until Yianni has more time to grow into it. JB- Gold completely based off of his revenge arc Aura Zahid- There is no reason he should be losing to nurmagomedov again silver/gold depending on ghasempour
  2. As far as stature and international career go, I think Carroll is better served at 92/97 kg so 197 feels like the best fit for that. I think Merill has a bit more room to grow without jeopardizing athleticism. Carroll is a large fella, but he did not look particularly sucked out to me making 213 so I think if he is diligent with his dieting he can do it. J'den cox use to make 189.
  3. I know he has spoken about MMA aspirations, I really hope he sticks it out for another quad but if he were to go the MMA route Immediately Colorado is a good place to be and he would not be tied to an RTC then.
  4. Very true its just hard to imagine he can be at his absolute best in a setting where he does not have guys on his level or better than him on a given day. Perhaps hes doing something similar to micic where he is traveling as well as bringing guys in, but thinking about their team I would assume Zerben and Serrano are his main partners and while they're very good they are not world class.
  5. great for college wrestling, hope its best for his overall development as a wrestler.
  6. I could see Merill going 197 potentially for a year as well although I'd rather see him just take the year to grow.
  7. Isiah white is the first example that comes to mind of d2 guys that had a ton of success at the d1 level, and I think Joey Davis would have been a multiple time AA had he made the transition, but seeing Bo Bassett tech in 2:56 23-4 the returning fifth place who would go on to take third this year makes me wonder at times just how big the disparity between D1 and D2 is. For reference two weeks prior Bassett had to come from behind to beat angelo rini and vince santaniello who are solid, but neither were NQ's. Of course, this does not apply to ever d2 wrestler just something I was thinking about. James Jopling went fourth, third the last two years and I think was fourth string at Nc state.
  8. Was wondering if anyone had the list could not find it on usa wrestling.
  9. If you are a middle to upper middleweight, I cannot imagine a better two-man staff in the country to train under.
  10. I saw that, I would recommend watching his matches hes super super dynamic on his feet, The macedonian was baiting a single so he could sit corner and ended up cradling him I am going to watch his other matches to see if he continues to do that or if it was a scout. Sakamoto absolutely melted the Azerbaijani which was impressive. He's very good hip to hip with an over hook and has a nice knee pick as well as low single and slide bye.
  11. He said he will continue competing, I'm sure he will be doing mostly in room stuff and not handling a ton on the business end at least as of right now.
  12. SAKAMOTO Rin | United World Wrestling (uww.org) not sure how relevant this is but this fella from Japan will be attending on Okie states team I guess he moved to Stillwater last year.
  13. Not sure about all that, I do know that Iowa has been very inactive recruiting wise, presumably because they were looking to go big in the portal. So, if Okie state lands Alirez and Wyatt I would say that is them doing what Iowa had planned to do.
  14. I love a good greatest athletes thread, mine go in no order. Buvaisar Satiev Deion Sanders Phelps Bo Jackson Lebron/Jordan Tiger Woods Gretzky
  15. when I heard that he would not take the Missouri visit I assumed he was a lot closer than originally let on prior to his visits.
  16. not a huge fan of the get unless they get Alirez as well just don't think they have enough fire power to go top 2 but it is awesome for Merrill training wise.
  17. on flow they had mentioned that the portal window opened when John retired rather than the new hiring, I'm not sure if that is definitive but thats what they seemed to think.
  18. Kinda hope they do not dump the money into him for 1 year, I assume he will not be an RTC guy. A year for Merrill to train with him I suppose may be worth it but I'm guessing he will be getting six figures which seems like a ton for legitimately one year and probably somewhere between a 2-5 placing.
  19. I think keeping Zo on would be smart Ladarion mentioned how much he has helped him too, I believe Jax's dad and Jody were in his corner for the trials but I could be off I know his dad was.
  20. Thinking about everyone in the NCAA I feel like Hamiti has the most untapped potential. I cannot even think of a guy that could hope to push him in that room nor did he have coaches that could get the most out of his style. He has always showed moments of brilliance (the first 5 minutes against MM) I think the sky could truly be the limit for him in this new training environment.
  21. To my knowledge they train mostly at young guns, Jody corner Jax at pretty much everything. That being said I think his relationship with Daton is a big reason David made sure to keep daton on at Oklahoma state.
  22. he got a temporary waiver to compete I don't know that I would consider that being cleared.
  23. I'd like to preface this by saying RBY won the match 14-4 but he got takedown and turned by Kael Larudisen who was doing at grey shirt at the OTC this year. I believe Kael went 2-2 at u20's and is 18 or 19 so if he can turn RBY I feel like he cannot give spencer a single opportunity on top. Now this could be an overanalyzes by me and RBY could have just taken him lightly but just something of note.
  24. I was under the impression that grad transfers can transfer at any time, I thought that is what gomez did this year and I believe it has happened in college football as well.
  25. I feel like essentially claiming he got this prescription because he was struggling to study overseas on a podcast was probably not the best decision either.
