  1. @MPhillips just went from six to midnight
  2. I am being 100% serious when I say that I am building something in the garage that will give them a run for their money. It's taken a bit longer than I wanted but that's okay because it will be a sexy new product.
  3. This foreshadowing can mean only one thing: Gable Steveson is starting a wrestling team at the University of Miami and ACC wrestling is growing even stronger!
  4. Have you seen March weather in Fargo? Both brutal ice storms and 6-7" snowfall are semi-common occurences and when combined with very high speed winds there is a significantly increased chance of inclement weather shutting down the airport and/or bussing routes which could lead to significant participant and attendee absences. That would be very, very bad for the crown jewel of our sport.
  5. That’s it. That’s the tweet.
  6. Who says Flo is the only one lurking and stealing content from the message boards?
  7. Each of Sad’s fingers weighed 100kg in that photo. He’s getting at least a 10 kilo allowance this weekend if he actually shows up But I also heard from someone whose word I consider to be very solid that Cox touched 250… and it wasn’t a facetious comment off the cuff. Maybe they both consider Gable to be the final mountain to greatness and this is part of the plan?
  8. Who weighs more today: Cox or Sadulaev?
  9. Brands doesn’t want a Galaxy Quest he’s on a Vision Quest
  10. The Iowa varsity versus jv tournament is the Midlands we have always wished for
  11. An American athlete competing in Russia next week is about as likely as Russia declaring an end to the invasion of Ukraine next week.
  12. You missed Ohio State sweeping 4th at NCAAs, B1G conference, and B1G duals but otherwise you are correct
  13. That's likely to change at the 11th hour as well
  14. The Nevills cubs were a delicious snack that Carl placed at the predator's sacrificial shrine
  15. Because in the US we interpret freestyle activity violations 1:1 as folkstyle stalling. It's about holding center and not engaging in negative wrestling but we are known to hold an "Iowa Style" mentality because it has been engrained for generations. Taking a shot when you're backing up to the cylinder won't hold water internationally like if you are trying to avoid a stall call in folk.
  16. Gable Steveson is transferring to Penn State.
  17. Maybe in purgatory after already transferring from RUS prior to the freeze-out but not nationalized as a citizen of the incoming country yet? Feels like a @Jon_Kozak question since if anyone has solid grasp on these situations it would be him.
  18. Was in the 92 champ’s corner
  19. Scorching hot take: if Ferrari wrestled the past two years, which he did not, he would have a puncher’s chance against Steveson. Athletic heavies on the lighter who can actually wrestle, while extremely rare, give GS a tougher time. Geno is obviously the best example, but even the likes of Cassar, Kerk (15-25 pounds lighter when they ran into each), and Davison can frustrate him - don’t forget Davison took him down at NCAAs during the gold medal farewell tour. Of course now it doesn’t matter and he would wipe the floor with Ferrari mainly because a pissed/motivated Gable is god mode (see: Akgul, Parris, Gwiz) and Ferrari hasn’t wrestled in two years. But it would have been a fun what-if!
  20. You of all people know that statistically speaking last year was the outlier rather than the norm. Without even going all the way back to the previous medal, let's just look at how the US has done the previous two quads: 2016 Molinaro qualifies weight at olympic last chance, 2-2 made it to the bronze match but lost 2017 Retherford 1-1 2018 Stieber 0-1 2019 Retherford 0-1 2020ne Olympics weight not qualified 2021 worlds Yianni 1-1 (post olympics where no olympic medalists competed and the Russian backup won the tournament) 2022 Yianni 4-1 silver (no Russia) So over seven world/olympics including one heavily diluted tourney, the US record is 8-6 with 50% of wins in one tournament and 75% from two tournaments six years apart. 65kg has been and remains the weakest weight in the US and the statement is accurate, not absurd.
  21. I meant what you said, but me words hard me no articulate
  22. Yianni has been and will be our best rep at 65 on the international scene. His pickadilly is that he can’t seem to increase the gap on the domestic competition which is quite the conundrum in a vacuum.
  23. That's a big win for Amine
  24. Tumur Ochir is a very, very bad dude and that was a shellacking that shouldn't come as a surprise to anyone. 65kg is still our weakest weight while also being the world's deepest. Today was a good step in the right direction to get into the placement bouts and hopefully we see another medal in September but it's going to be a very steep hill to climb.
