  1. The better view would be of the Steve Sanderson coaching tree. Some of the greatest hits off the top of my head would be his sons Cael and Cody are doing pretty good in the coaching realm in their respective positions. Cole and Cyler coach the family wrestling academy in Utah. Steve also trained David Taylor from a young age then rejoined Cael at PSU and heads a very strong kids academy. Varner isn't quite an apples to apples since he trained with Cael before transitioning to coaching, but I think if he ever chooses to move to a new RTC that he will have great success. I really think that Steve Sanderson is on par with the Dan Gables and Bill Walshes when it comes to legacy.
  2. Cankle-neck looks to be really banged up. He had even less cardio than usual during folk - was relying strictly on defensive judo and go-big Clydesdale moves. Not sure if it was because of a full transition to GR but I’m sus that he’s not hurt.
  3. Team Illinois with a strong presence in the GR semis
  4. I didn't say it is happening. I said it would be the best place.
  5. Some people use the phrase "that's like the pot calling the kettle black." Other people use the phrase "we don't want to accuse the Russian 97 of juicing because look at our 86."
  6. The best place for Lee to improve as both a competitor and future coach is Happy Valley. He fits in very well with the Carl/Casey/Snyder/Varner selfless school of thought. Not sure how his Charizard would do in a battle against Jesus though...
  7. He was on weight until Willie sabotaged the whole operation!
  8. ETA Pantaleo as the runner up at 70 I guess? Missing a certain hollow bird bone dude.
  9. 57 Gilman. I hate myself. I hate everything about myself for doing this. I want Lee. I also want Zane because I’m a homer but I REALLY want Lee. Taking over Richards in my heart but Lee on the record. 61 Fix over Gross 65 McKenna over Yianni 70 Greezy (or Zain I guess). Unless JG signs up last minute that I guess, uh, “that dude” to get reached by Zain 74 Dake over Nolf 79 JB over Starocci 86 Taylor over Brooks (but gawd I love me some Zahid 92 Moore over Jackson. But I applaud Cox for moving on from being a 2x world champ and 6x medalist going on a vision quest to take out someone domestically who is top 3 p4p and wanting to ultimately hunt down the world p4p champ. Just make weight this time dumb dumb. 97 Snyder makes weight and cleans house. By Cox 125 Steveson over Gwiz
  10. Oh cmon don’t whoosh me
  11. Gonna be real awkward if he places higher post-ACL reconstruction than the other HWC dude
  12. Zane Richards hard work and relentless schedule paying off with the best possible potential path to the finals and if he gets there he has the gas tank to potentially overcome technical deficiencies. LFG!! I also wish Dom Bradley would fully move to coaching. Or Greco. I don’t really care, all he does is plod around and rob the fans of interesting matches at 125 that could actually grow the sport. Instead it’s just another dancing bear snooze fest.
  13. Kevin Jackson is probably available for one more run as HC. The team might have trouble making weight in a timely manner though...
  14. You hush that slander right now.
  15. Why the booster hate against Nickerson? What did he do to OU that sat in such a bad way?
  16. I’m OOTL - has it been shared why TMS isn’t competing this year?
  17. Does that make Carl a warlord if he’s buying all the mercenaries?
  18. It’s well known that Spencer Lee was also beating Eierman so I guess this is a moot point?
  19. Everyone can compete. My point was that a competitor is not back to fully optimal for about 22 months. Yianni and Spencer Lee are elite freaks and even they need to rehab.
  20. One ACL takes almost two years to get back to where you were before. Two ACLs simultaneously is darn near unchartered waters for high-level athletes. That makes the US Open a trap game for Lee no matter the outcome at this point.
  21. Spencer Lee has had the same goatee since 7th grade. No way he can grow a mountain man beard like Dennis.
  22. Patrick Glory is going to be sent to the shadow realm if he runs into Lee. That match will be a statement, exclamation point, and a permanent period on that “what-if” scenario. Suriano has killer defense and strong cardio but I don’t know that he will outlast Lee at scratch 57. I will put a sig bet, a wrestling club donation bet, or very real dollars on Spencer Freakin Lee to meet Gilman in June. I’m still a believer - maybe now more than ever since he has a Mt. Everest-sized chip on his shoulder.
