  1. To tell Mrs. Lee her new glasses are ready for pickup...and to go easy on them
  2. I didn't know this because I'm a PSU fan, and not a Cornell fan but: 1. Vito was 216-1 in high school in NY. Which is a much better wrestling state than Arizona. RBY was undefeated but Arizona is pretty low on the list of best wrestling states. 2. Vito is way more credentialed in FS wrestling. Cadet silver in 2016, Jr World silver in 2019, bronze at 2019 US Nationals, gold at 2020 US Nationals, gold at 2021 Pan Ams. He also beat RBY badly at FS in both meetings. 3. Vito has better wrestling heritage - he's Russian and his dad was a 2x Russian freestyle champ AND a Olympic bronze medalist (1992 Barcelona). 4. Vito goes to arguably the best school for developing elite wrestlers. 5. Vito is also considerably taller/longer than RBY while being just as fast and quick. So notwithstanding how good RBY is, it's not like Vito was some schlub with no wrestling chops. His credentials (other than previously winning a NCAA title) and physical characteristics are all superior to RBY. So hats off to him for winning it all and winning OW. Well deserved. RBY still had an amazing career and I look forward to cheering for him in the UFC.
  3. I think Penn State needs to upgrade 165. 0-2 BBQ isn't good enough.
  4. How tall is OToole, who is taller than both Starocci and Brooks?
  5. For some Penn State guys: Levi Haines "Her Way" Carter "Stallrocci" (stalled his way to a pin in the finals) Aaron "The Prophet" Brooks (no explanation needed)
  6. Who has overpowered Yianni? I think he's fine. Spencer just ground his knees to the bone (literally). He needs to rest for a long time, assuming he doesn't need more surgeries. I only pray, for his Olympic and international aspirations, that he didn't do irreparable damage in his 6 years at Iowa. Dude sacrificed his body for the Iowa Hawkeyes.
  7. Of these 5 wishes, only 1 is super realistic (Bartlett) but I would love of 2 or 3 of them happened: 125 Noto (transfer from Lock Haven) 133 Bartlett (drops to more natural weight) 141 Vito (heard he can't wrestle another year at Cornell for some reason?) 165 Carr (transfer to get back to the top of the podium + train with his BFF Brooks) 197 Beard (the prodigal son returns)
  8. Not Penn State, not Iowa, not Ohio State, not Mizzou, not Oklahoma State, not Minnesota...not anywhere in the Big 10 or Big 12 or ACC. Is Cornell the best place for elite wrestlers (and elite students) to go? Dake and Yianni are 4 timers. Vito looks like he may win 2 titles before he is done. And keep in mind as a Ivy League school Cornell has no red shirts and no athletic scholarships available. So the only thing they can offer is an premium Ivy League education and great wrestling coaches.
  9. Bartlett is like Spencer Lee sized. It's crazy he was able to do so well essentially up 2 weights wrestling 149.
  10. Stallrocci stalled his way into the only pin of the finals last night.
  11. I am not being facetious in any way. Spencer Lee literally sacrificed his body over the last 6 years, solely for the benefit of the Iowa Hawkeyes and their faithful fans. He destroyed both of his knees to win 3 NCAA championships, and honestly, if not for one fluke movement, a 4th NCAA title. I am hearing he re-tore one of his surgically repaired ACLs. If true, this probably knocks him out of competing for the 2024 Olympics. Even though I am a hardcore Penn State fan, I am also a Pennsylvanian and have a soft spot for PA wrestlers, like Spencer Lee. I said this a year ago, but I believe Spencer Lee has, in effect, sacrificed his dreams of Olympic Gold, to win 4 NCAA titles. He fell a bit short, but I think Hawkeye fans need to build him a tribute since he literally gave up us dreams of Olympic glory for the benefit of his college team. He is a true hero to Hawkeye Nation and it needs to be cast in bronze and placed outside of Carver Hawkeye. I would personally donate to support such a tribute to the great Spencer Lee.
  12. My vote was for Vito, but Parris did utterly destroy Cassioppi. Big Cass, while not a champ like RBY, is a very good wrestler.
  13. Some nominees of mine: 1. Spencer locking his hands when Ramos went for the head pinch 2. Labriola rolling into a pin in the finals vs Starocci 3. Cole Matthews not running away from Bartlett in the last 2 seconds of the match 4. Monday choosing down vs Carr
  14. Brooks looks like he could have faced Alirez in the finals. Yianni and Vito both can tie their shoes without bending over. Something in that Ithaca water...
  15. As long as he keeps sitting in the stands with the Brooks' yes.
  16. I think he could return to the top if he did this. Plus, he is best friends with Aaron Brooks. Rolling every day with Starocci, Brooks and Haines would bring a new edge to his game.
  17. I would like to see: 125 - Davis 133 - Howard 141 - Bartlett 149 - SVN 157 - Haines 165 - Carr (hopeful) 174 - Starocci 184 - Barr 197 - Brooks HWT - Kerk
  18. The easy answer seems to be Ramos pinning Lee, but I think after more thought it's actually Vito dominating RBY. Ramos' win was somewhat flukey, whereas Vito was totally in control the entire match.
  19. Why would he have to transfer? I thought this was his junior year.
  20. I heard Iowa has some guys from Iowa too.
  21. Why do KOT and Starocci both look bigger than Brooks?
  22. They are excellent coaches and I hope they stay on as head and assistant head coaches until Spencer takes the reins.
