  1. That would be an insult. If Kyle Parco gets $500,000 Steveson deserves at least $3,000,000.
  2. Can Goodale turn Rutgers into a perennial top 10 program?
  3. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13809357/kara-welsh-wrestler-charged-murder-wisconsin-college-gymnast-chad-richards.html A college wrestling star has been identified as the man accused of murdering student gymnast Kara Welsh. Chad T. Richards, 23, has been charged with fatally shooting Welsh, 21, following a dispute on August 30. Richards is listed on the University of Wisconsin Whitewater's 2021-2022 wrestling team roster as majoring in finance. The college is the same one where Welsh, from Plainfield, Illinois had major success as a gymnast, having won a national title on the vault in her junior year.
  4. Is Woods actually applying to medical school? It’s typical for premed students to take the requisite STEM course while in undergrad. You shouldn’t need to attend grad school for these unless you majored in underwater basket weaving.
  5. Well supposedly Nichols made a big offer to Luke Lilledahl despite him being committed to Penn State, so...
  6. Apparently Real Woods (who has a degree from Stanford) did not pursue a graduate degree at Iowa. Seems odd, I'm sure he could have qualified academically for a master's program.
  7. By "the norm" you mean most grad transfers are indeed finishing a master's degree?
  8. Is Ayala getting paid as much as Kyle Parco? If not, then Askren has a point. Ayala has placed higher than Parco, has more years of eligibility remaining, and has been a Hawkeye from the start. That certainly justifies being paid more than a 1 year rental like Parco who hasn't ever made a NCAA final.
  9. I thought they had to at least pursue a master's degree but I'm hearing they can take non-degree courses and still wrestle. Is that right?
  10. Perhaps Mexico, like RBY?
  11. In an incredible plot twist, Bob Nichols is revealed to be payor of Cstar's $1.3 million bag.
  12. You certainly understand that the connection that they couldn't pay Woods to stay at HWC might indicate they're running low on funds due to all their NIL activity this year? You seem like a smart guy so I'm sure you understood this.
  13. The same Nichols' checkbook that funds NIL can be used to write checks for RTC athletes.
  14. Real Woods, beloved Hawkeye and Iowa homeowner is leaving for CKWC in Michigan. Seems like some of that NIL money should have been spent to keep him at HWC?
  15. Yes but being able to claim a NCAA Champion is worth a lot more than just saying you had an All-American.
  16. That's a bargain if Iowa is paying $500,000 for Kyle Parco.
  17. Suriano and Fix were two primo recruits coming out of high school who were as close as could be in terms of performance and pedigree. They had a WNO match that lasted over 30 minutes until a winner was finally decided, so yeah they were 1a and 1b. As we know, Suriano started at Penn State and then bounced to Rutgers and finally Michigan. Rutgers and Michigan at the time were definitely a tier below Penn State in terms of coaching and room. But yet he ended up winning 2 NCAA titles. Meanwhile Fix stayed at Oklahoma State under the tutleage of the GOAT of lightweights Mr. John Smith (sorry Spencer) for literally 8 years and never won a title. Honestly it's questionable whether he even improved at all from his freshman season. So is this an illustration of how coaching/the room may not matter as much as we all think?
  18. Can we just get rid of the big video ads that follow you as you scroll? I'm fine with the static ads but the video ads are especially annoying.
  19. And just like that, Gables time in the NFL is done. He will return to NCAA wrestling soon.
  20. There's still a little bit of white space Bob can sell.
  21. Would Gable call for "STALLING!" of Iowa's current NIL-focused graduate transfer recruiting strategy? Iowa was traditionally built on developing homegrown recruits into All-Americans and NCAA champions. Now it's built on buying other team's proven talent.
  22. He’s not on the Iowa roster.
