  1. She said the budget was about 280 billion. The google says: How much does the US Department of Education spend? The Department of Education spent $268 billion in fiscal year (FY) 2024. This was 4.0% of the $6.8 trillion in overall federal spending. So it looks like she was very close on with the ED budget and you are not Fishy. That makes her number way more less made up than yours. Where you might have an issue is that she says less than 25% of that goes to educating students. That leaves around 200 Billion for something else. She said that leaves 220 billion, but a quick calculation of 75% of 280 billion is 210 billion. The real number at 75% is 201 billion. Again not far off like you are. Regardless, how does only 25% get to students? I think that is the better question to ask and really the most important reason the Dept exists, is to get money to help students. So if you could figure that out it would be helpful. Money to NGOs etc does not count. That is what she is complaining about. If you disagree with her, please show how she is wrong. mspart
  2. Starocci - nobody should get 5 changes to win the national championship when there are only 4 years of actual eligibility for most everyone else. it is happening but I don't have to like it. mspart

  6. I heard about this on the radio today. Disgusting. This is approved by the school, a middle school. We have people trying to tell us that this isn't a big deal, that this isn't a problem. When you have school administrator force girls to undress in front of a male, that is abuse of the kind I have been talking about. There was a neutral place that the boy could have gone to, but no, he had to make a spectacle and force the admin to prove they are as woke as possible. Yeah right, this stuff isn't being pushed by the schools!! mspart

  10. The second sentence says, "The Consumer Price Index surged 2.8% over the prior year in February, and the month-over-month increase was 0.2% — both measures cooling from January". Come on WKN. Even better, inflation is lower than it has been since Dec. So it has gone down. That was my point. https://www.cnbc.com/2025/03/12/cpi-inflation-report-february-2025.html https://www.wsj.com/economy/cpi-inflation-january-2025-interest-rate-83e0a0c4 https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2025-03-12/us-inflation-comes-in-lower-than-forecast-offering-some-relief Each site says the same. Feb lower than expected and lower than the past few months. mspart

  15. https://www.pbs.org/newshour/nation/columbia-says-it-expelled-some-students-who-occupied-building-in-last-years-protests Columbia says it expelled some students who occupied building in last year’s protests. Mar 13, 2025 6:19 PM EDT NEW YORK (AP) — Columbia University says it has expelled or suspended some students who took over a campus building during pro-Palestinian protests last spring, and had temporarily revoked the diplomas of some students who have since graduated. In a campus-wide email sent Thursday, the university said its judicial board had issued its sanctions against dozens of students who occupied Hamilton Hall based on its “evaluation of the severity of behaviors.” Notice the date of the announcement. Trump certainly is losing this fight. mspart
  16. Agreed. Not only that, but the Ds are completely lost. They lost a lot bigger than the election results would indicate. They are on an island howling at the moon, alone and no one can hear them. They are rudderless and do not know where they are going. They have created a video where female reps are doing smash bros style fighting stances. It doesn't get worse than that. This was a seismic shift and the Ds were not ready and haven't figured out what happened. They are lost and there isn't anyone that can help them because they aren't listening or observing. Their man on CNN, Van Jones, is saying htat now. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-14481817/cnn-van-jones-democrats-party-screwed-star-democratic.html CNN star Van Jones gives blistering on-air diatribe about why Dems' apocalypse is only getting worse Van Jones launched into a blistering diatribe against the Democrat party and says he can see why its hemorrhaging voters. Jones, a former Obama adviser let rip on CNN Newsroom Sunday and couldn't help but let out a laugh as he ran through his party's recent struggles. He warned the 'Democrats don’t know what to do,' due to discord within the party. He then framed the situation 'as a nightmare' worsened by its loss of the House of Representatives to the Republican party. mspart

  18. ^ This A plurality of the vote can be a majority in the electoral college. Most often it is not (when someone has less votes than someone else), but with a concentration of people on the coasts, their electoral vote is not as great as those in the interior. Hillary to her dismay and unbelief, got a majority of votes, but neglected to account for the electoral college and actually lost. Her dismissal of WI will forever be a tale of warning for future presidential candidates. Never count your eggs before they hatch is a corollary. mspart
  19. I hope this helps you. I am not against trans kids. They need care and compassion and time to work through their feelings. They are being abused by those that want to push them into life altering decisions that they are not emotionally or physically mature enough to make. It is the adults that I am against. The only exception to this is for boys to play sports against girls. Boys to be in girls locker rooms and bathrooms. The kids couldn't do this without adult approval, and that is on the adults. No caring father of a daughter would want this to happen to their child. It is inconceivable that this is the case but we see it all the time. It is getting less often sure, but it should never have started in the first place. mspart

  21. He's the last that I remember. He won with 43% of the vote in 1992 with 44.9 million votes. 50 million votes went against him. I know Trump won in 2016 similarly so yes, it does happen both ways. Just giving examples. Bush won in 2000 with just a bare minority vote. I just found that one. I was on a trip in 1991 or 1992 and was watching TV, Cleveland debates or something. First I ever heard of Clinton. I knew from that moment, that he would be the next president. There was something about him. He definitely had that IT factor. mspart
