Here is my issue with all of this. First, I'm all for getting into a little sparring session with China. They're a terrible government (don't tell their stan @red viking). But, the 75 other countries would've come to the table to negotiate without this spectacle. And that is exactly what this is. It's irresponsible and is only being done to feed one person's ego.

Even with Trump in office our Federal Government is still fairly liberal in the sense of granting many freedoms. Comparing or even suggesting there are similarities with the CCP is quite the stretch. We very well might be living in the tail end of a political Golden Era (The Era of the Grand Bargains) but we have quite a bit to go.

The answer depends on how you want to define "united". If you mean it in the sense that the Chinese government would be more than willing to drown half their population and not show any remorse, sure.
