Good for him. Accepting anything other than a medically driven exemption is a violation of one's principles. Accepting an exemption grants the argument that the underlying policy is valid. NU (and most of academia) showed itself to be a tyrannical human rights abusing institution subjecting students and staff to medical experimentation. Howe could not be associated with such a place. Well he beat Kemmerer. Hopefully you don’t have him buried down in tier 4 too. He and Lewis are easily the two best 174bers in the past 2 years and Labriola has wins over both. And wins over other top 10 guys like Lautt, Smith, Truax, Romero, Bullard, Massa, etc., with 3 AA finishes including a 3rd. So yeah… those wins. (That, and he is undefeated this year and ranked #2 by all ranking services.) The only guy he is arguably not on the same tier as is Starocci, and even that is debatable as Labriola has wins over every guy to have ever beaten Starocci (Kemmerer, Washington) or taken him to OT (Lewis), and Labriola himself took Starocci to OT. That suggests they are in reaching distance of each other, which is what a tier system is about. Trying to find a marginal bad loss or two for Labriola from prior seasons does not magically pull him out of a tier of guys he has *proven* on the mat he can beat. Especially when, as someone pointed out, Starocci lost to Washington, which by your “bad loss” theory should drop Starocci to tier 3.2 points

Lee and brands want nothing to do with this match. Rby would destroy Lee and possibly break him (literally) in the process. If Lee were healthy it would be a fun match, but I'd still favor rby.2 points

I lived a few hundred yards from that damned gold dot for about 30 years. And I was always curious about the cowboy boots and handlebar mustache in surburban Chicago. Never made sense to me.2 points

RBY would kick the sh_t out of Lee. Too big and too fast. He is bigger, stronger, faster, and of similar skill sets. Now if you sucked RBY down to 125 that would be a completely different thing. Lee wins a close decision.2 points

RBY is wrestling a light schedule and if he is going to make a run at 2024 it will need to be at 57kg. Start practicing now. Owings went down to find Gable. It's a shame RBY wasn't confident enough in himself to do the same. He's already beat Fix so another title at 133 isn't going to change his legacy. Makes you wonder if Cael is protecting his ego.1 point

16-10 Gomez final, but Lamer fought hard and made it close in the third as Gomez tired/shut it down.1 point

Glenbard North HS in Carol Stream, IL. Home of Tony Ramos, Austin Gomez, Abe Assad, and Billy Corrigan. Coach Hahn always wore cowboy boots, dominated the conference, and was not every competotor's favorite. He also owns a barn across the street with a gold dot on the roof. Only GN wrestlers are allowed to know its meaning. https://illinoismatmen.com/forum/forum/statewide/ihsa-3a/43276-gbn-hatred/page4 https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/ct-xpm-1992-08-09-9203110535-story.html1 point

Perhaps there is a local wrestling club he would like to see recognized. Just hopefully nothing to do with that damned gold dot? Maybe a local cowboy boots store or something1 point

Yes I left that one out of the losses since Brown looks solid. 15-2 and a win over Prata of his own. But the other 4 guys have a combined record of 45-27 (according to wrestlestat). Molton does need some recognition though since he wrestled for both Old Dominion AND Fresno State before Campbell1 point

If RBY wanted the match, he would have made the cut in the off season to certify at 125. He knew where Lee would be.1 point

Meh. The injury default loss that DeSanto took was shameful but, 1) RBY has never done that to anyone else, 2) Austin shot in at least 15 times after the injury and the situation never recurred, 3) Lee and Austin are not comparable wrestlers. Lee finishes his shots differently than Austin. He would not find himself in the same predicament1 point

Lewis is Tier 2 and he is alone there. He is the only 174lber in the country that stands more than a fart's chance in a shit storm against Starocci at a D1 NCAA collegiate folkstyle match this season. Now the only two 174lbers that can beat Lewis, aside for Starocci, are Labriola and Foca. Interesting, right? I don't see Lewis or Romero or Lautt beating Lewis. Those three could certainly beat Labriola or Foca, though and there would be zero surprise there. Lewis is the better, more accomplished wrestler and he did lose when they met again. I absolutely would favor him in a rematch if/when it happens, though.1 point
