Psu fans pretend only Bob tosses $ at athletes as if psu isn’t doing it.

You responded to someone saying that Iowa’s ROI on transfers wasn’t good. It seems like the ROI was very good with Starocci considering his achievements. Didn’t really make sense to me. I’m a Northern Iowa fan btw. We don’t have anything like the Iowas or PSUs. We don’t even have an on campus practice facility lol

I didn’t realize that about uni.   Thanks for that info.  Interesting

I clarified what I meant.   That psu has a small gang of bobs too.   They pretend they aren’t paying their athletes around here.    They also pretend they don’t use the portal.

for the Cstar there is a nagoo

For the baily’s there is a bucannon

I think it was more of a dig about how they’ve been burned by SOME transfers. Iowa has had some great transfers imo

Yeah Northern Iowa trains out of a building that a local roofing company let them transform into their practice facility when the university condemned the building they had used for decades. The kids and the coaches put their own blood sweat and tears into making it what it is. Pretty hard not to root for the Panthers imo. Schwab has been tremendous for the program and I’d like to see him stay here

No parent in their mind would send their son to wrestle at a school under the leadership of Austin DeSanto. I’d bet the pig man’s farm on it.

Schwab would be a great choice.  Not sure the Iowa fans will support unless Gable gives him his endorsement.  Looking at AA and Champs, it seems like UNI out preforms their incoming recruits coming in.  Just look at Thompson, Luan, Foster to name a few.  What would he do with Iowa recruiting class and money.

The difference is that other school's donors don't identify themselves on msg boards and then say absolutely stupid crap.

Ok.  So why do I hear bobs bag of cash jokes 80 times a day and never hear that joke?

I agree that Schwab is a great coach and administrator. Can he pull recruits, though? I'm not sure kids today know or appreciate who he is. Revenue sharing and finances might be a little different at Iowa, too. While he'd be at a place that's getting some pretty nice B1G media money, things could get tough if Iowa hit some financial bumps in the road. UNI at least had a legislative carve-out where the state could bail out its athletics; Iowa (and ISU) don't have that luxury. I mean, Schwab's dealt with worse, but just sayin.

Major donors and supporters of Penn State wrestling often include
alumni, former athletes, and corporate partners, with significant funding going toward facilities like the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex and team support. Key supporters include:
  • Rich Lorenzo: Former head coach and wrestler who raised nearly $6 million for the wrestling facility.
  • Galen and Nancy Dreibelbis: Longtime supporters who contributed to the Lorenzo Wrestling Complex and Rec Hall video boards.   Galen and Nancy donated over 5 million.
  • Pyramid Healthcare: A corporate partner supporting Nittany Lion wrestling.
  • Nittany Lion Club: The main fundraising arm that receives significant, often seven-figure, donations from supporters for athletic programs.

A huge Big10 school like Penn State has donors to their athletics programs? Well I'll be darned! Shocking!

PSU is also moving to Adidas for all their athletics gear next school year. Sneakerheads like Rocco may not like it, and PSU's singlet design might change, but the deal could have a pretty big indirect impact on NIL/revenue sharing there. But that's for another thread.

The deal did address significant funding for NIL. Penn St looks to be one of Adidas’ premier programs, so they threw a lot of money at PSU. Nike had kinda not seemed to care towards the end of the last deal, so it might’ve been a mutual parting of ways. As for uniforms, I don’t think much change will happen, just the logo. We like our boring blue and white.

Sorry, I was typing too quickly. I meant that the deal could have a pretty big indirect impact on NIL & revenue sharing (beyond what PSU is getting straight from Adidas). Kansas basketball is a pretty good example.

As a staunch supporter of the Brands Bros, I have to admit that if this downward trend continues through another year, I could see them being replaced. Not sure who they could get to replace them.
